Question

When i log on to SL i have inventory item offers i accept but they do not appear in my inventory. I've done everything i can think of even contacted LL and well that got me no where. So maybe some of you who have been on SL for much longer can tell me what is going on.

Same thing with group notices sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't when you click on the notice if it has something to give you it won't. So you have to manually go into the group and get the notice/object offered.

Any ideas why this is happening? I have done all steps that are mentioned on the wiki and any other place mentioned. But thee are no specific answers.

Which viewer are you using?

This bug may be your problem: BUG-227179 - All offline inventory offers from scripted objects are STILL lost

If you are using the LL viewer or any TPV that does not have this bug fixed, then any inventory offer sent via a scripted object while you were offline will be silently lost when you login & accept the inventory offer.
As far as I'm aware only Firestorm & Catznip viewers have this bug fixed at the moment.

This inventory is permanently lost.
The only work around for now if you have offline inventory offers from scripted objects is to login first on a viewer that does not have the bug (eg Firestorm) and accept the inventory.  You can then relog on your usual viewer if you wish.

LL viewer. I mean i am speechless why doesn't LL fix the bug then?  Do they know of this bug and just not doing anything about it?

They know about the bug.  It's been broken for a year now.
I've tried complaining that it's still not been fixed a few times & so far nothing.
Usually bugs that cause irrecoverable inventory loss are fixed really quickly so I have no idea why this has sat unfixed for so long.

Thank you so much for your advice. I have downloaded firestorm. Will take me a bit to get use to it but i will stick to it. Better then loosing the stuff i have won when offline.

If you normally use the LL Viewer, Catznip Viewer may be the better option as there is a far less learning curve, where Firestorm, though it's a good viewer, is *very* non-standard user interface. Just a heads-up. Both (and others) are listed in the Third Party Viewer directory: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Third_Party_Viewer_Directory

Finally an answer to the very same problem I have for weeks now. Thank you, Whirly and Alyona! I don't want to use another viewer (I us SL viewer). Sooo I keep IM-ing groups etc for things I really want to receive. I really would like LL to get into this and solve it. It is an essential thing I would say. For example: today I missed a prize I won, so had to message the owner.
