Question

I think somebody is griefing me on a Dinkie Sim I go shopping on and it's a very small sim.  I should not be having these issues.

For two days I cannot rez the whole sim and NOW I cannot move my avatar.

I am here now but it won't let me post the SLURL.

I am rezzing the sim now but it won't let me move my avatar and I have been here before with no issues.

I am in a Dinkie Avatar.

What am I supposed to do?

Edit in photo...here is a photo...I can rez the sim as shown in the photo; however, I cannot move my avatar.

  1. Does it only happen in that sim?
  2. If you press Ctrl Alt T to reveal invisible objects, is there anything around your avatar that could be blocking your movement?
  3. Are you on WiFi and do you know how fast your connection is? It's possible that it could be a network issue, but that's trickier to figure out if it only happens in that sim.

It's unlikely that you're being griefed, unless there are other people there and/or rezzing is allowed in that store.

There is a situation where the region server has failed to properly connect to the SL backend servers. Which means your viewer can't get the references it needs to work correctly. A symptom of the problem is not being able to move your avatar or TP anywhere. Scene render can be affected too.

The problem can sometimes be fixed by relogging. Other times the region has to be restarted. Standard restarts are Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, which depends on the server channel the region is in.

Okay, I will check it Tuesday and Wednesday and see if it's better.

I have lag on other sims (slow rez) but those are ginormous shopping sims...this one is a rather small sim of just her items in the little stores...so I didn't have much problem before.

That's why I thought I was being griefed.  It's been fine before.
