can't add credit card

hello, I tried purchasing L's and I kept getting an error messages so I removed my card then tried to add it back thinking that would work but it keeps giving me an error message when I try to add it back so I don't know what's going on or how to fix it.

the general questions.....
new user of the lindex? could be you reached your limit already,
what error do you get,
is it a real credit card or prepaid, or debit? .. if one of the two last ones.. it won't work (also not when it are branded debit/prepaids)
did the cashier accept it? or do you get the error when really using it.

See Alwin's advice.  Note:  Even if your debit card worked previously, there's no guarantee that it will continue to work.  In general, LL doesn't accept debit, prepaid, or gift cards.

If that's the only sort of card you have, consider making a PayPal account, linking your card with PayPal as a backup funding source, and then transferring the money you want to pay LL from the card to the PayPal account.  Then do your transaction with Linden Lab.
