If I have WINGS that are static...  Is it possible to add script to the wings for force them to move, bounce freely as my avi walks.  I don't wish for the wings to do anything else except flow freely like many styles of hair do.

Any suggestions of script I can buy, how to add it, etc.?

It all depends on how the wings are made and whether you have permission to modify them (and on whether you know how to write scripts or are willing to pay a scripter to write something).  Given all of that, chances are pretty good that you will be better off looking for wings that are already scripted to do what you want.  The one part of your question that is least likely to be possible is the part about bouncing (or flowing) freely as you walk.  The only wings that will do that realistically are flexi.  If those wings are not already flexi, they won't be flowy or bounceable.

If they are mod they can be made flexi but it may not give the results Sandra is after.

I think what she is after is something like this but slower, much slower:

Maybe.  Again, it depends on how the wings are made.  Simply making them flexi won't help unless they are flexi from the spot where they are attached to her.

That would be a lovely effect.  It's what I imagined that she was after.  As I said, though, she's more likely to get that effect with wings that were designed and scripted to do it in the first place.  It's not necessarily impossible to retrofit the wings she has, but it's likely to be challenging and possibly expensive.

Wasn't disagreeing. Just didn't want her to try it and freak if it didn't work the way she wants.

Yeap and I even sometimes still say far out but it's gotta be something up tight, outta sight and really in the groove.

No, I don't mean tampax whadafug wrong wid ju. :P 🌺

Ty all for your help.  I did have a friend helping me with trying to add script to the wings.  But, he was unsure about how to do so.  We did purchase some 'script' that didn't work.  I will just look for some that already have a flexi script because that is the look im actually after.

That -should- be scriptable. It has ‘cool things you can Bento” written all over it.

Q: If an avatar flutters its digital wings; does the wind change directions over the Great Firewall of China?

@Sandra8675,

You don't use a script for "Flexi".  Flexi is short for "flexiprim".  You turn a prim into a flexiprim in the Edit window, Features tab...click the "Flexible Path" check box.  Here is a tutorial about flexiprims: http://www.users.on.net/~angsty/html/LSB6-Flexi-Prims.html

Flexi wings will respond to avatar movement, and wind, as you say you want in your post.  However, they won't "flap".  To do that, one way is to use the Bento wing bones.  Bento is a function that LL added to our avatars a couple of years back.  It adds bones to the avatar skeleton, allowing for more animation options like animated fingers and facial expressions.  They also included bones that can control wings or a tail.  If you have some skills with the modeling and animation software Blender, you can rig and animate a set of wings.

Should being the keyword.

Only on the second Tuesday of the third month of the Year of the Dragon. So... you've got some time. About 5 years. ^_^

Wait... is that the year of Fire Dragon, Water Dragon, Air Dragon or Earth Dragon? Now I'm confused.

As far as I  am aware the 'Chinese Zodiac' only has the one Year of the Dragon. It doesn't distinguish between the elementals.

Actually it does! I was born in the year of Fire Tiger! There is the decade (fire) the year (tiger) the month (I'm not sayin') and week (Still not sayin') LOL

This is Tiger, scroll down to find the five elements, etc. Look yourself up and have fun!

Ah. I see what you are getting at. So for the next Year of the Dragon, according to the site you linked, the element will be Yang Wood, so I'm assuming an Earth Dragon.

As for me, I was born in the Year of the Pig Boar (Earth Boar). https://www.yourchineseastrology.com/zodiac/pig.htm

Yesss! Haha!~ See? So when I say I am a Fire Tiger, it narrows it down to the not just the year, but also which decade and most people are able to figure out which year in that decade is mine LOL There is a lot more to Chinese Zodiac than just animal year. :) I hope my joke that started this conversation makes a little more sense now Bahaha!

THIS is why I make my forum title what it is, because I suspect I annoy more often than not. 😇

Yeah, except I wasn't referring to astrology, just the zodiac. Astronomy has more to do with what I meant than astrology. Animals shapes are easy for humans to recognize and makes for good shared terminology that leads to understanding even with a language barrier.

If they are made of flat prims with an alpha texture on them and they are mod-allowed,, you can modify them to be Flexible, just using the edit window - Features tab - Flexible Path. You may have to rotate the prims and the textures so they flex in the right direction. No script needed, and they will move just as you describe, with your avatar's movement. (Suggest setting them with Gravity to 0 or they will be permanently droopy).

However if you want the wings to actually flap, then yes you'll need a script for that.
