On Region Restarts:

Regions will be restarted if they have been running for more than 10 days on Tuesday (Main Channel) and Wednesday (RCs) regardless of whether or not new code is being deployed, for the general health and well being of the Simulators. Nothing beats turning it off and then on again ... once in a while.

As always please plan events around these maintenance windows. However, if you are hosting an event on Tuesday or Wednesday when we're not deploying new code, you can restart your region ahead of time to avoid interru

I wonder if those "Internal Script Improvements" for BlueSteel and LeTigre might be a first step in the script and scheduler efficiency initiative.

Come to think of it, that effort could benefit from a sexy project name, lest it languish forever in the obscurity of "internal improvements."

Gosh! What fun today.  No less than 4 (four) restarts on Wirtz (LeTigre) region in 2 hours.

Last one took us to the server software slated for Magnum, so I guess the script-run improvements rolled to LeTigre and BlueSteel initially didn't work.  oh dear.

When is the next attempt?

Well, how 'bout that? Tussock, also a LeTigre region, is also on that release originally pegged for Magnum. But just to be confusing: it has by far the best performance it's seen in a couple of rolling restarts, just like old times.

So here I was all ready to enthuse about the script improvements!

Imagine how much performance might improve if only it were known why a stable, nearly unchanging region sometimes starts into a state with only 60% scripts run, and sometimes a state with Spare Time headroom for a third of the frame.
