The best place to ask for help is in the Answers section of this forum. You can see the link in the top menu. Your plea has been made a number of times and answered each time. So, if you search in Answers before asking, you will often find your answer and not have to wait for someone to help.

Also, whenever you ask a technical question, click the viewer's HELP->About... and copy-paste that info in with your question. Instructions for all viewers are similar, but the 'click this then this...' instructions vary from viewer to viewer. If we know which viewer you use, we can give precise  instructions. While 98+/-% of users use the Firestorm or Linden viewers there are differences that complicate things.

The best 'how to fix' is written for the Firestorm Viewer. Lost Inventory Substitute 'SecondLife' for Firestorm in the directions and it works for the Linden made Second Life Viewer.

It is rare that SL drops an inventory. Literally, your inventory lives in the SL servers, not in your viewer. At login, the viewer downloads a copy of your inventory from the servers. Something has gone wrong on your side and created a viewer problem, most likely. So, it is a relatively easy fix.

My door will not open, help, please.

Do you see what I did there? (Car door? House door? Doggy door? Is it locked? Jammed? Broken? Is the doorknob functional at all? ...)

In order to get help, you cannot simply state what the difficulty is. Rather, you should describe what you are doing, what did you expect to happen, and what did happen. This way we have a better idea of the problem and trouble-shooting ideas will come. In your case we have zero information, so all we can doo is ask you questions when, instead, we could be giving you some real answers.

Have you tried another SL Viewer? Have you tried logging into an alternate account? Have you logged in and tried creating a new LL Avatar? ...I could go on, but it's moot as I am literally reaching into the dark here.

Lol ....

You‘re right and I fully agree with you. But the world is divided into two parts: The one part full of persons like you, who are brilliant in analytics, technically skilled and fixed on finding solutions .... and than we have the second half with people like niko4005 ... and me ... who are always totally surprised by technical malfunctions and full of panic that their paradise was burned down within seconds ... and driven by that panic we are not able to describe precise what happened to us.

For us, the answer of Nalates Urriah is a good guideline of finding the answer step by step and to calm down a bit ... 🙂

As said, the point is on you ... I just wanted to explain, why niko4005 should not feel like an complete idiot for posting an imprecise help request ....

I'm not really skilled in technical things, though it may seem that way LOL I studied communications and was even planning to go for a high degree, but too costly, so I stopped-out. In grammar school you drop-out, in university you stop-out, go figure! (~snorts~) Most people have their love of things, for example, @Orwar loves fonts. I do also, but not to the level of typography as he, whereas for me it's words, I fumble all the time, though I do like to try using the right word for the right expression. Just as Comic Sans or Papyrus font may cause Onwar to cringe, so do many word choices of others do me!

As for the 'technical' bit, that's just from the many sources of information I've acquired over the years, so I can be wrong sometimes, at other times my information is just plain out–of–date. Though in the end, for me, it's about clear communication. Oh, and I am not a "grammar–nazi," I just cringe quietly. :)

Yeah ... and people like me need and love you for your communication skills, for we need sometimes a helping hand, to find a way out of our self-made confusion ...  😉

Oh no .... please don’t tell me, that all the greeting cards I ever made with Comic Sans were the source of all typographic evil! 😉

As a font, Comic Sans isn't really 'evil'. It's informal, and as long as it doesn't cause people problems reading the message - the problem is that people used it for flipping everything, including business mails and printed notices. It quickly got over-used in a very amateurish manner which quickly made it just inappropriate as it signaled ignorance.

I agree (I understand it's the same with Papyrus, and if I may add: Times New Roman? Hahaha!) Call me weird, but I love courier. Not Courier New (which is what this forum offers,) but plain, old Courier. If I could set a default font in these forums this is what I would set it to, though you (Orwar) may wish to flog me for it. Bahahaha! BUT, too lazy to manually change the font every time.

Okay, back on-topic: OP - Have you tried a different viewer? ~grins~
