ronnycasquette
Hello everyone! I am using CtrlAltStudio viewer 1.2.6.43412 Alpha which is the only viewer working perfectly to run my oculus rift for VR in SL. It worked great till a few weeks ago. Now the clothes cannot be downloaded anymore. (so no avatar, only smoke telling the clothes are charging but nothing......) Can someone explain this? Was there any change in server address? Do i need to change something in Preferences? As CtrlAltStudio viewer is no more updated, it will be a big issue to still run Oculus on SL.... Thanks in advance! Whirly Fizzle
A few weeks ago, LL disabled the back-end support for the old UDP asset fetch. This means that old viewers that do not support asset fetching over HTTP will now have severe problems, for example, all your body parts/clothing layers will be "missing from database" & your avatar will never rez, you won't be able to hear any inworld sounds (apart from voice) & you won't be able to see any avatar animations playing on yourself or other avatars, plus problems with loading gestures & landmarks. I'm afraid there is no fix apart from updating to a viewer that supports Asset-Http.
animats
Ouch. Still, asset fetch over HTTP went in when, about five years ago? Viewer developers have had a long time to convert.
ThorinII
From their website: http://ctrlaltstudio.com/viewer Quote This Viewer is No Longer Being Maintained The CtrlAltStudio Viewer was developed in order to try out and share a number of ideas, primarily Oculus Rift support and stereoscopic 3D display, but also variable walk & fly speed, Xbox 360 controller support, and Kinect for Windows control. It is based on the Firestorm Viewer and can be used with both OpenSim and Second Life. Linden Lab’s cashier update of 15 Jun 2016 is not supported. This means that you can no longer perform L$ transactions with the browser built into this viewer. This viewer is no longer being maintained. The most recent release of this viewer is based on Firestorm 4.6.9 which was released in Dec 2014; there have been many improvements in Firestorm and other viewers since then that are not included in CtrlAltStudio Viewer. Unless you really need Oculus Rift or stereoscopic 3D support you should seriously consider using another viewer instead: either Linden Lab’s viewer or one of the other third party viewers such as Firestorm. ronnycasquette
Thanks everybody for all answers! Is it any way to make Ctrlaltstudio deal with http fetching? Or any way to make oculus work with other viewer (same problem with "Second life project oculus rift"). Thanks all for your support.

Someone would need to take the viewer code, update it & make the viewer available for download. Code available under "Download archive" here: https://archive.codeplex.com/?p=ctrlaltstudioviewer 2 hours ago, ronnycasquette said: Or any way to make oculus work with other viewer (same problem with "Second life project oculus rift"). There is this for Firestorm. Go to the Youtube page & read the description for the download & code.
