Recieved less L$ than what I payed for in USD

Hello, I recently purchased L$ and the amount I payed was not the amount I received, why is this?

I live in Panama (Central America) and we use USD, so if its $1 in the US its $1 here too.

Is there an explanation for this?

Every L$ purchase has an additional fee of 1.49 USD. If you want to minimize this cost, buy more L$ instead of small amounts.

Wulfie's right about the Transaction Fee.  In addition, if you make a Market Buy (Instant Buy), you are buying at the current market exchange rate.  Because this always is subject to change, the "estimated proceeds" you see in the purchase window are just that...an estimate.  If the market moves a small amount between the time the system makes its estimate and the time you hit the purchase button, the amounts will be different.
