Radio Station stream provider business

i want to do stream provider business but i am clueless how and where to start from , need help with it , i have land and want to utilise  it

as this is mainly a rl thing you'll have to figure out the technical side there first..and afterwards find a way to implement the process in SL  otherwise your customers have to wait till you'r online to hand out the serverinfo.
you rent/own at serverparks? reliable connection? uptime +99% ? .. bandwith?... and where... because for many potential customers a server on Samoa won't be the best choice...

what does stream provider business mean to you exactly ? 

are you talking about a radio station where you are broadcasting your own content ? A web service that hosts radio streams for others in SL to use on their parcels ?  Or do you want to make mesh objects that look like radios which people can touch to select from a range of radio stations ? Or do you just want to know how to change the radio stream on your land ?

There are others too.  somebody will groan at me, but just be safe and legal and make sure you have your ducks in a row,  if not and you get popped the fines/fee's are not going to be little.

That,s not true, the service provider does not need a license, the person that rents the stream and streams the music does.

MPAA and FCC have nothing to do with licensing music online. One regulates motion pictures and the other regulates public/private radio and television air waves.

BMI and ASCAP are the main music licensing companies, representing writers, singers and publishers. If I am not mistaken, the cost to obtain a license from either one is on a sliding scale, depending on the projected size of your listeners. Example would be is the music playing to a national audience or maybe 100 listeners online?

Found what I was after too.   I guess we can ignore the fcc/mpaa remark,  it's been years since I broadcasted and been years since I paid my fines.

The person or company streaming the music requires a 'license' not the service provider that's a fact so if you rent shoutcast streams out to others you do not need a license because your not streaming the content your customer is, otherwise data centers that 'rent' shoutcast streams would be paying the license and the renter would not be!

You don't need any license to rent out audio-streams.

If have a web server, contact your hosting company to find out if they offer CentovaCast Control Panel app. Most do, either for free or for a small monthly fee. If your hosting company doesn't offer this service contact Centova Technologies, Inc https://centova.com to lease this app. (that will cost a little more).

If don't have a web server, that's where you start from. You must have one.

Upon having the Centova Control Panel installed, go to the Marketplace and enter in search 'CentovaCast Vendor'. That's a unique product that automates renting out audio-streams in SL.
