Why are some of the items on my land (and friends land) invisible? You can only see some items.

Hmmm not exactly sure what you are asking, there are many many objects in SL that are invisible, you just have to do Ctrl Alt T to see how many are around you all the time.

What sort of things are you talking about and why is it a problem that they are invisible?

If you mean objects that only you can`t see but everyone else can, are you using Phoenix and did you derender them?

If so go to the Phoenix menu at the top of your screen and to the Asset Blacklist, remove everything from the list and then change your active group tag or TP out and back and you should see the objects again.

Do you mean objects that are far away? If so, you may need to increase your draw distance if it really bothers you not to be able to see those things. In Phoenix, look for an arrow in the bottom right corner of the screen; click on it and you will see settings you can change such as DD, LOD, etc.
