In 5 minutes 200 messages can go by, so unless you do nothing but read chat, you'll miss important things - like Lindens acknowledging problems on the grid that they are working on. Like I said earlier, I am in the group, I wasn't AFK or Busy but the chat didn't show for me, so therefor there are times when people will not see what Patch shares. Totally agree with this. I do not follow that group's chat because 99.9% of it is idle chatter, which is FINE for those who want it, but it's a very poor way to communicate official information from LL to residents. On top of that, what about the people who are not logged in world at the very second someone says something in the group chat? It makes way more sense to post in a thread here, or on the official blog, where EVERYONE has the chance to see it, if they want to. From the bits of group chat that I do notice from time to time, there is a very small percentage of those 4176 group members that are actually chatting on a regular basis--- which really is no different that pretty much any chatty group that I've ever been a part of in SL. Just because a group has thousands of members does not mean that very many are fully engaged in the group chat. Many of us are in the group primarily for the notices. As to Patch making a comment in the chat, I don't have a problem with him saying they are looking in to some issue, but I do think that someone official should also make a comment here in the forums where the problem was very likely first pointed out. 6 7 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I want it to be a technical problem. With further releases will we all be refreshing past the homes waiting for the second wave release?!! That would only be the case if the group was invite only. Anyone can get in there and get info. If you don't, you've self-screened yourself out.
