When did you last see a Bellessarian home available?

I am not changing homes atm (love the ones I have) but I have a lot of fun watching the land page to see what is available. I check it at least a few times a day to see what is available.

Various things come/go but there are two that always seem to be on the page and I am beginning to wonder if maybe those two styles are the "ugly stepsisters" of the Bellisserian community: Campers and Stilt on Land (OL).

Is it my imagination or are campers and OL Stilts less popular homes in general? Or did LL just build too many of them?

It always felt to me like there were just a TON of campers out there, but I don't know if there really were more of them than any other style home. I guess it makes sense that there would be, since they are on 512 sq m parcels, so you can get twice as many into a region if you want to.

As for OL stilts, I think the issue there is just that everyone wants water, and a good number of OL stilts are firmly landlocked.

ETA: Now that I think about it, the fact that campers are on smaller parcels would tend to make them less popular. Half the land size = half the prim allowance.

I feel like campers get overlooked because they're 512sqm rather than 1024. They're a direct replacement for the old 512 Linden Homes which allow people to use the other half of their free tier elsewhere, but if you still have one of those you probably don't use it much and may be reluctant to downsize from a house to a trailer. As for the land stilts, I had one briefly and swapped it for a pier because water is prettier than sand. I like having a yard, which is why I'm now back in a trad, but I'd prefer it not to cover the entire parcel.

I always go back to the Williamsburg camper it is the only style of linden home I absolutely love to decorate and build for. I had to cut back recently so now I have my 512 LH, 512 mainland - building in the sandboxes etc all under one subscription which has always worked best for me despite my trying all kinds of estate parcels and alts. Who built the Williamsburg? Did I say I love it?!

I have to say that my favorite right now is the traditionals, especially if you get a good one in the regions that were first released.  Now that I have a water parcel on mainland I don't need a houseboat.  I like the stilt houses, but I have issues with the landscaping and the draw distance and I just can't get into them.   I am awaiting on the chalets :D .

I agree with usagihara, I think the only reason people end up abandoning the campers is that they're 512sqm rather than 1024. I think campers are lovely, especially if you have a nice location. My sister had a camper for months before she couldn't take the neighbors pornographic images that were on are full bright.😒 If she was by a nice waterfall, she would still be in one. Currently, we both have stilts on a pier with a clear view.

If my named region comes up as a chalet area I will consider :) not really speaking to me though...

Still waiting for my named region to appear as well (since December); it is an interesting, exciting and sometimes frustrating process.  I keep reminding myself to grab another cup of coffee and sit back and wait...  :D

Takes a long time - but will be exciting to suddenly see them on the map!

I've seen one stilt on land where they built added rooms out of the space under it. That's about the only case of a stilt on land that looks like it needed to be that one kind of building.

I feel as if they should have made about 7 over water for every 1 on land. But instead it's 50/50. It seems more like 1 water for every 7 land - but that's just because the ones on land have SL-cooties...

Campers also - people have to really want that special look. Much of the desire for campers may have vanished when log homes came out. Anyone that just wanted forest that is. Obviously some people specifically want a camper. If it was on a 1024 plot I imagine it would compete very well against the other styles.

The best use of them now is for people that want to be half on mainland and half in Bellisseria - without bumping up tier - who also realize they can even do this. Given how often the question comes up of 'can I get mainland if I this or that' I suspect a lot of people aren't even aware of this option...

That is a good point about the campers. It does take a bit of experience to realize that you can split your free 1024 in that way, and that's something that newer players will likely not figure out on their own. It would be nice if that was mentioned in the "Get Your Linden Home" promos, since it really is a kind of hidden "perk".  (I'm assuming it is not mentioned; I can't say for sure since it's been a while since I've read any of that.)

Little bit of news on the railway. The last rez zone is still in Hawkesblood, but the switch just to the east is now operational, with one line running south to the coast and the other east and north to Randlesham Forest continuing as far as SSPE1193

There are several unfinished passing loops on the stretch, but no  RR rez zones, not even in Randlesham Forest. This seems way too long a run without a rez zone.

All the usual awkwardnesses apply, but you can get a rail vehicle to Randlesham Forest without any cheating. We're still some way from completion, signals and passing loops. The old SLRR code is not going to be able to run trains on Bellessaria without serious modification, just single vehicles, but there are getting to be a few alternatives.

Does this have it's own thread?

I feel it risks getting lost in here, whereas with it's own thread that tags a key mole or two, it might get better priority on the 'to do' list.

This thread, perhaps?

It prolly would be good to cross-post to it.  I understand, tho, in this thread Arabella's notification will prolly reach the max number of Belli residents.

Really?  In addition to the Infinity Freight one?

And cross-post it to the SSP thread, too.

If you do come to Hawkesblood and de-train at the station, come visit me. All railroad riders are welcome :)

My house is the little blue house immediately next to the station (on right) if you are facing the tracks, on the same side of the tracks as the station platform. There are a bunch of willow trees in the yard. And there is a rez zone right at the station so you can rerez your train after your visit, and continue on your way.

My Home is a Bellisseria "open house," so please feel welcome to come in, look around, help yourself to coffee in the kitchen, pet my kittycats, etc.
