I set out this evening to go for a ride around my land. Maybe I'm just extraordinarily lucky, but I came across some stunningly beautiful places. There were also some eyesores, yes, but I found that the nice places far outweighed those. Admittedly, I've not ventured off the Atoll to explore any other continents and maybe those are all sh*tholes, but the areas surrounding me are, for the most part, just fabulous.

Sometimes I think we're so used to looking for the bad that we forget to see the good.

OMG i am there now,i came across this place from someone else landmark near by and i really like the details in this cafe, for just a 1024 land its very well done

I moved out of Belli (again) and expanded my mainland, and now I have an old Tuscany farmhouse. After starting with it on the ground and using up 2/3 of my LI on just landscaping without even starting on the inside of the house, I tore it all up and put it in a skybox with a footprint smaller than the parcel, to avoid the temptation.

I haven't finished furnishing it yet but I am spending most of my time in the courtyard, and I now have that as my set-home spot. Its so lovely.

Technical question though - in a skybox, how do I make sun/moon shadows work? Do I have to make the exterior walls of the skybox transparent?

I have been working on clutter lately, that bit of styling that leads the viewer to believe our virtual world is as real as our corporeal one. The theme of my loft is a creative confluence of people who love music,  the outdoors and of course coffee.  Their view is high above the streets of a city -- their world filled with items that they use daily.

This is where I am at the moment.  A bit more to go; we wouldn't want any empty spaces -- well not many anyway.

The ground floor of the farmhouse is about done. Probably needs more clutter.

That stone in the corner is a great touch, it looks like a really nice home

The house is the Tuscany Farmhouse from Salome, the stone fireplace and accents are built into it.

This is a 240m2 plot, which feels a natural size for a small one story house. I wanted roadside so I could drive so the car went in first and I worked the rest of the LI allowance around that.
I could squeeze some more out of this place with a bit more linking of decor, but it feels fine as it is.

That's a gorgeous look @Marianne Little !

Do you know that I bought a whole house only to get the kitchen and fireplace? 👍

Yes, Trompe Loeil has started to include kitchens in their houses. And 600 L is not a terrible price. I even like the house and can use that later... If I get land again.

Which house is it?

  • 2 weeks later...

I got bored of all the summery vibes going on in second life, so I bought a snow land for a change from my main home which is a beach house, I wanted it to be a magical enchanted winter retreat, but so far it's becoming more and more as a haunted hill! I'm sure my neighbors hate me now xb
