There is no way that I am aware of to ban avatar types, if what you mean is the child avatar bodies or whatever.  Many teen avis use the same mesh bodies as adult avis, but proportioned smaller.  If you are insistent about not having underage looking avis on your sim 24/7 you will have to have staff to handle that.

Impossible. You can't detect what kind of avatar somebody uses.

That's not entirely true.

You can detect height, gender, and attachments. A slightly complex system could actually extrapolate a lot about an avatar. It wouldn't be 100% accurate, but it might be enough for some people.

I look forward to your database of everything and the eventual, inevitable removal of the required script functionality.

Unfortunately llGetAttachedList is too useful to get sacked.

Height is no indication of age at all, though. Especially with even "regular human" height being totally arbitrary and over-inflated. That 5'8" avatar looks like a child next to the 7'1" one. Then there are all kinds of fantasy avatars that are equivalent or smaller than a typical human child, without actually being a child.

Gender has similar shortcomings, almost 100% of my male shapes are set to "female" because it just offers a better overall shape for me. I can imagine myself doing the opposite if I wanted to make a really butch avatar, or just a large one overall.

Similarly, even looking for specific attachments is vague. The infinite creativity in SL lets people use things with an entirely different purpose from their original that we might not even imagine.

Sure, you might get it right in a lot of cases (especially if your location attracts a certain type of crowd), but it's probably not worth it.

If you really wanted to do this right, you could use a scripted viewer to take pictures of the avi. Then feed the results to a classifier. Here's a thesis on the subject. Most of the code you need is open source.

To be fair, I didn't say it was worth it, just that it was possible. Animats suggestion is the same. Possible, but still probably more trouble than it's worth.

I don't know, but "slighty complex" sounds like an undertatement. I think such a system would need to be very complex and very large to even attempt a prediction on an avatar, considering all variables given to it. People who are satisfied with systems that aren't 100% accurate, would be better suited with simply selecting by height. Its not accurate, but simply and the system can't get confused by too many things to know and consider.
