Questions about Second Life Viewer

Type in the local chat without opening "conversations" window, is it possible?

IM from friends, groups, all in separate windows, is it possible?

Is it possible to unlink them from the Conversations window?

Chat(IM, chat local) in the second life viewer is very bad. 

Change, is it possible? pls

An example of what I'm wanting to expose are these same functionalities in alternative viewers as firestorm. 

All separate, each one with its own window.

Sort of.
Open the conversations window & tear off nearby chat

Then collapse the nearby chat

You end up with a small floating nearby chat window you can place where you like on screen.

You can tear off each IM/group conversation tab into its own window the same as you can tear off nearby chat.
As far as I can tell, on the LL viewer you can't have this set up automatically.  You'll need  to tear off each conversation into its own window as the conversations come in.
