what software is used to make flexi hair

I'm trying to learn how to make flexi hair but have no clue where to start. Do most people use software? Please point me in the right direction to make flexi hair. Thank you 🙂

Flexi hair was (and can still be) made from PRIMS which are the building blocks included in the SL viewer (and other 3rd party viewers).  Most hair these days is made as MESH, not prims.  Here is a very old tutorial from the forum archives.
