Eyeblink animation

Animesh character. Needs eye blink and eye movement

The eyes here are separate textures, but they're not moving parts. I'd like to do eyeblink with an ordinary texture animation - have images of eye open, eye half closed, and eye closed, and trigger them occasionally. I realize the upper eyelashes will still be there, but for a quick blink, that may not be noticed. Anyone doing this? I haven't seen it done.

I don't want to go to full eyeballs. I'm working on low-LI NPCs. This one is 36 LI as animesh. (Should come down to 29; the medium LOD of the hair has too many triangles.) Uses system-type clothing. I'm shooting for NPCs that look about as good as a system avatar.
