Question

Hi There... I've been normally able to get onto Second Life every day, usually either the Second Life viewer or the Firestorm viewer.. and today it started doing these messages. I've tried uninstalling both and reinstalling each with no results. Can someone please help me? I don't know how to fix this! I desperately need to get back on.. image.thumb.png.7d14e8aacffdeff2e6f03e9552169187.pngimage.thumb.png.8e2c6948730d38aa633eb9fb5576e6e0.png

The first, if you are trying to get the viewer running, is likely caused by an old icon. Recently how the viewer launches changed. So, old icons attempt to run the old launcher/version checker. Delete all your desktop and tool-bar icons for the viewer. Install the viewer to force new icons to be installed. No need to uninstall anything. Just install over the top of your existing viewer.

The second 'Login Failed' is the message one usually sees after being disconnected or crashing then immediately trying to log in. It can take the servers a couple of minutes to realize the viewer has disconnected and your avatar should be logged out. When you try to log in the system sees you as still logged in. It starts logging you out. It takes 1 or 2 minutes. Then you can log in.

If you are still getting the "Failed to execute script SLVersionChecker" on the LL viewer, please file a bug report on the JIRA so Lindens can get your logs.
You won't see the VersionChecker error on Firestorm because Firestorm doesn't use the LL updater.

How to file a JIRA:
