Parts of body disappeared when changing clothing

I made an alternate outfit for my avatar with a shirt and leggings. When I changed outfits to go to my other avatar setting (wearing a dress), the parts of the body covered by the shirt and leggings are now invisible. I detached the shirt and leggings from the outfit where I was wearing them. But, on the other outfit with the dress, the parts are still invisible. I can't detach the shirt and leggings from that outfit because they aren't in the outfit item list. How do I get the alpha for the shirt and leggings to stop making parts of my body invisible? They aren't added and I'm not wearing them in either outfit.

I tried clearing the cache and logging back in but nothing changed. I tried detaching the shirt and leggings but the clothing item goes away and the body parts under the clothing are still missing. I can't find an alpha item associated with either clothing item to try to detach.

Are you using a mesh body or the system body?
If you are using a mesh body, which one?

Also, in case this is a clue, if I take off the Catwa full body alpha, the shirt and leggings issue goes away. If I put the full body alpha back on, the parts of my body under the shirt and leggings become invisible again. I have looked at the shirt and leggings items again and none of them seem to be attached/wearing.

The shirt and leggings probably have 'auto-alpha' scripts in them and the older versions of those scripts don't "unset" very well.  If you attach your Maitreya HUD and look at the Alpha tab, you'll likely see the areas blacked out.  Click the "show all" or "clear all" or such down near the bottom and that will restore your body.

Side note about 'auto alpha' scripts - they basically interact with your Maitreya body, like the HUD alpha tab would, to hide sections of the mesh body.

The body's HUD is where the trick to making life easy is hidden. Some clothes come with scripts to control the alpha layers of the body. With most brands of body the clothing scripts interact with the HUD. If you are not wearing the HUD then the scripts won't work. But, as long as the HUD is worn wearing and removing clothes with these scripts hides and reveals the body as needed.

In your case you likely took off clothes when you were not wearing the body's HUD. So, those parts remained alpha'd out and invisible.

I include the body's HUD as a part of my outfits. That doesn't always work as the clothes may get worn before the HUD can wake up. But, it is there so I can manually fix things.
