What else would you guys like to see added to the new Linden Home Continent?

I'd love a city center. This is such an opportunity to make SL about community again. I've already made new friends while out exploring, and I don't even have a home there yet! I was talking with a friend and we both feel like this is making us excited about SL again. 😍 Once the houses are complete, I hope it continues to evolve.

This is exactly why we need areas like this. This is making people who might be more inclusive to start interacting with others in a way we would in real life. It's more interactive. We're exploring our own living area, we're talking to people outside of our own insular network, without the craziness of hubs, or feeling uncomfortable in a roleplaying community when new, or small talk at a club. You can break down a small social wall here easier. I stopped to watch some people RP a "Cops" type show complete with police chase, a talking horse officer, and camera crew.  Ended up giving a statement to the officers. I don't rp inworld, I don't have time for extensive immersion into an RP sim, etc, but I can rp a little here and it's more natural and realistic and fun without some huge backstory. I'm just me, at home, or on my bike, and saw some stuff. Simple. I don't have to be involved, but if inspired I could be, and then I am on my way again.

Creating more interactive areas would be a benefit I think for retention.

Also, omg please restrict sounds to the parcel, I don't have anything making noise on mine currently but gonna toggle that when I get in tonight as a courtesy in case I install something annoying, or decide that my Harlem Shake gestures are amusing again.

To be honest, right now I would rather see the moles working on more (and varied) housing regions than on a "city center" which may or may not continue to be popular a year from now when all the hype of the new continent and community has worn off. It's hard to gauge how many of the new residents are really into being part of a community long term, or how many might be if only there were <whatever buildings and/or activities>.  But first, I'd like to see the housing built out.

Yeah, they still have a lot of new people coming on for these houses, and still many to seat. Besides, they already said it's Linden "Homes" when people were bringing up wanting a full-fledged airport, which also resulted in the airstrip. Maybe if they have room after all the houses and such are in I can see them doing this, but atm they have bigger fish to fry.

A couple of things here and there probably wouldn't hurt for rp purposes, but it sounds like people are asking for a whole town..

On what Whimpsy said about the sounds, PLEASE auto-restrict. Also please do something about Media. I cannot tell you how many homes I walked passed in the last few days that had porn videos shown on the tv's inside in full-view of the windows. =/ Isn't there a way to make it so those off-parcel won't see these? Because I was definitely in the middle of the street and not on those parcels.

I'm loving the cute traditional style homes, but I'm also hoping the new area will have some modern ones as I could see myself moving back and forth between them when wanting a certain look for a while. I hope my excitement over my new home arrangement lasts and isn't just a manic reaction to living off the platform for the first time in years.🤣

Kudos to the residents who are working on building community spirit and involvement - the groups that have been created, the tour pictures that have been posted, the collections of LM's posted and sent out to the groups, etc.  It is this type of thing I think that will be the most successful for building and maintaining a sense of community among residents.

Some of the ideas are great and some, IMO, are really out there.

Some folks might want to read this post by Abnor that helps explain some of the issues with allowing rezzing on the same regions as homes.

agree 100%. There are still 1,000s of people currently in the old 512s waiting for their new 1024s

How about a new Linden Homes continent where all the housing is transient? Basically it would work like a rental system where every resident would get a prim allowance they could take with them to whichever location they decide to set as home. There would be many different options for housing accommodations from hotel/motel rooms to RV and mobile home parks. There could be remote mountain cabins and campgrounds you need to hike into. A resident could change their home location as frequently or seldom as they like but the idea would be to encourage exploration and interactivity. The themes would be travel and exploration with maybe some games worked into it such as GTFO, a simple messaging system or a scavenger hunt. If extended to the entire grid it could be a bit like Runescape minus the medieval element. I know it would not be for everyone but neither is sitting alone in virtual subdivisions just like those where many of already live in RL.

Since I am homeless and waiting for this house but I already visited lots of houses.  My suggestion that I would love to have new texture: the wooden colors for the trims, windows and doors.  We already have white,  but add new texture like pine (light wood), honey medium wood, dark chocolate brown, dark cherry wood, and black one!  And also for community: what about fishing, go hiking somewhere secretive spots and Bellisseria garden park or / and drive-in.  Boat tour to sail around for fun!  Waterfall?  Just an idea.

The trouble with the "city center" idea is that, where they exist in SL, nobody goes there. Go visit downtown Bay City. Or the mall in Mosh in Zindra. Bay City is well built but way underused.

Someone has set up a commercial area on the side of Sansara fading Bellesaria across one sim of water. You can rent there if you want. It's not very good looking.

Yava pods are going into Bellesaria soon. I met the installer laying out the routes. So there will be a bus line of sorts.

Also I am kinda turning my linden home into a community gathering spot, just have to set it up later.

Maybe LL might consider listing the types of homes available -- houseboat, traditional, etc, -- and let members sign up for which one they want instead of the first come. first serve rush that left a lot of members out in the cold without a house.

 This way, LL will know how many of each type to create so it's fair and everyone gets their chosen home at the same time.

Why would you make a new account for a group and then use it to post here?

I'm not saying the group or the taking the initiative are a bad idea, but in creating an matching account, the implication is that you are some how representative or official when this is absolutely not the case.

The walkways leading up to the houses don't line up with certain houses. I wish they weren't there so I could and anyone else for that matter could put a walkway out that looks even. Sorry but it bugs me that they are not even.

So you're saying that only certain people are entitled to post on the forums here? I don't see where BellisseriaCommunity has ever implied being a Linden. In fact, their profile specifically states that they are not a Linden. Heck, they even mentioned planning to set up a community center, which means they are paying for premium just as you are.

I see no reason why they cannot post here, especially as this forum pertains to the very community they have a group for. You may not like that they exist, but they have as much right to post here as anyone else does.

I suppose if it bothers you too much, you'll need to just choose a house style where it lines up properly

When I had a house where it didn't I just widened it on both sides going up to the porch on my side of the property line, and I thought that looked OK.

I am going to work with it, I'm just saying I wish they would line up to houses or weren't there. I choose one of the smaller houses for a reason, I can't see myself needing all the rooms of the bigger ones.

I know. Mine doesn’t line up either. It’s driving my OCD crazy.

One thing I wish they would have is homes with driveways. I know many people including myself have put our own driveways in. But those are squeezed onto the property where we can fit them between the hedges and fences the Moles put around the homes. In some cases, it just wasn't possible to fit them. It took me a few tries to get a house that didn't have anything in front of it.

I also think there needs to be more simple infrastructure such as street signs, and my standard gripe of phantom light posts
