Hi Everyone,

I'm in Need of a new laptop that will handle SL.. Found this gaming laptop on sale, I don't want to spend a ton as I won't be using it on a daily basis.. I just want to be able to function lol.. No need to be in crowded heavy lagged areas.( I stay away those places even on my kick butt desktop, ).  Any insight would be great! Thanks!

gaming laptops are usually optimized for today's games and not optimized for the prozessor power SL needs ... I should do fine if you don't expect high end graphics - but I would be watching the motherboard heat... the IO between GPU and CPU can lead to quite some unexpected (from a gaming POV) heating...

If you can get a solid state disk of 10GB or larger, and use it for the viewer's cache, texture loading will be much faster. Only the cache really needs to be on SSD; the program and swap file do not. Cache is lots of small random accesses, which SSD does well and hard drives do slowly.
