Blush Bravin Posted March 30, 2019 Share Posted March 30, 2019 I think four years ago if I'd seen the current Linden homes I would feel as though I couldn't do much with them because I had been so used to basically tearing apart every home I bought and remaking them, but with mesh not being conducive to kit bashing as regular prims, I've gotten used to finding ways around all that "locked" mesh. So I feel challenged but not blocked by the homes. Also, this is just the beginning. There will be other styles down the road. I am eager to see what Patch and the Moles have up their sleeves! I'm keeping some of my mainland, but simply downsized it so that two of my alts can pull their tier from the group and get a House and a Houseboat. I decided I wanted some variety. LittleMe Jewell Posted March 31, 2019 Share Posted March 31, 2019 I have learned from experience that I am not one of those people to save the stipends and cash them out yearly to pay for the Premium renewal. Instead most of the alt stipends go to Lil's account to fund her constant spending. Even so, $72/yr is still only $6 a month for that 1024 of tier, rather than $7 /mth to add 1024 to an existing Premium account. And the stipends I choose to spend total L$15,600 in a year and that would have cost approx. $63.50 at today's rates, including the transaction fee. Thus it is still a win-win in my book. So yeah, if you already have one Premium and are thinking of more land and/or Linden homes, that adding another Premium really is the cheaper option, whether or not you save the stipends. Marianne Little Posted March 31, 2019 Share Posted March 31, 2019 Now I have my larger piece of Mainland for sale, but I also bought a 1024 because I loved the placement. 😁 Bought the building for it already. 😁 And I have - on Marianne - not deeded land to group, so I am free to grab a new house. Do you have a Linden home (one of the old ones?) If so, I would wait and just abandon it when the new ones is ready. If I were you, I would not trust LL to send us a notice. As the owner of a linden house that puts at your disposal only a certain number of prims I thought "but why not make furniture and objects for my home by myself?" so low impact and low cost with an elegant design. But how do I keep people from walking into my garden? Maybe I ivnest in an orbit - which would you advise? - or I keep access restricted to people I whitelist. But that will set uo those banlines, won't it? On the other hand I can make them invisible - anyone can - but that lies in the eyes (viewer) of the beholder. What's wrong with banlines then? And what's the alternative? I have a lot of furniture most of it pg but I have quite a few pieces that are adult rated as well. The furniture with adult animations that can be set to group I set as such; that way I know only my friends will have access to the menus. Also, I make sure that any furniture that has adult animations is located inside the house and not out in the garden area if it can't be set to group only access. Otherwise I don't worry about it. I typically set my land parcels so that people outside the parcel cannot see or hear people inside the parcel as well though I don't think that is necessary to satisfy the rule that adult activity must be private on M rated lands. Even if you allow others to see and hear what's happening inside your parcel as long as adult activity is occurring inside the walls of your home you should not have any trouble. Your neighbors might or might not like that you want to shower naked in your yard but there is nothing in the TOS that prohibits you doing so. You cannot be naked having sex outside in M land. So as long as you keep your sexual activity confined to inside the walls of your home you should not have any problems with the TOS. Also it's not your responsibility to make sure people cannot see activity on your parcel. You are only responsible to keep sexual activity inside the walls of your house. There really is no need for group only access or a security orb unless you are being stalked or have someone harassing you. In that case I would use an orb to prevent access. All set and ready with a new premium when the homes are open to the public. So Debi and Blush will have Linden homes and I still have my mainland with my shop. I know it may seem prudish by SL standards, but it's what I prefer. They will definitely announce it via the Blogs, so keep an eye on those: https://community.secondlife.com/blogs/. I don't think a large percentage of the SL residents read the blogs regularly, so I'm guessing that they will send out an email. Since they want anyone with a current Linden Home to move, I'm guessing that at the minimum an email will go to those folks and probably to all Premium members. I didn't leave anything out. You do NOT have set your land to private to be considered behind closed doors. You only have to have it inside a building.
