Are money trees a legal way to make money in Second Life, and turn into USD?

I know there are some, but are we discouraged from using them. And most importantly, can they be converted into US dollars? Thanks in advance.

Money trees are not illegal and Linden dollars can be converted into US dollars.

Money Trees are not a very profitable way to make money & once you reach 30 or 60 days old you can't take money from them anymore.

Most of them (and there are very few now compared to how many there used to be) have less than 10L in them, usually 1 or 2 lindens and you need 6250 (plus the fees) to make $25 which is the minimum amount you can transfer out of SL .
