ive updated beta viewer and i canot get sound to hear some one talk .. i can hear horses and birds a

can some one help me find wer i can activate other people talking and for me to hear them .. i can hear gestures and birds and horses but cant hear people talk

Make sure that the Voice plugin is not being blocked by any of your secuirty programs such as antivirus or firewall & check that it is enabled in preferences. Also check that the specific volume control for voice is not muted.

Talking is different than ambient sounds.  Did you enable and configure for 'voice'?  You should be able to do this in your preferences.  Enable voice.

no i cant get it to work and now when people IM me some have thr red circle with line through it on their smal chat box at bottom of screen and some have a green dot has this got anything to do with why i cant hear them?

You can go to the sim called Voice Echo Canyon to test your voice connection, then you will know if its you or other people / locations.
