Perhaps my subconscious mind is helping me more than I know! (as Love pointed out). I did say I sometimes revise, as it seems some part of my mind tells me the initial words could be too difficult to solve with a rhyme.. But is this a challenge...to solve..."hippopotamus mothball"? I bet that smart woman could do it...her name escapes me...she's kind of quiet... *Ivanova...sorry...kind of a hard name to remember for me.. Rolig Loon
This is kind of an interesting game, but you're right -- it does have some inherent sloppiness, probably because we have to keep too many "rules" in mind: (1) create a solution that uses a new pair of words that rhyme and expresses a meaning close to the original pair. (2) take one, leave one (so, don't answer without leaving a brand new pair for the next person), and (3) create a new pair that has some hope of a solution. There's room for loose interpretation in any one of those three "rules", so we end up with no solutions, multiple solutions, no new pairs, multiple new pairs ..... all being played by some very clever people who are having a lot of fun with words. As long as we're comfortable with the ambiguity, this is one cool game. Rules are highly overrated anyway.
