Question

Posted

I recently bought some items, accepted them in second life, but I can't find them in my inventory. I've looked in lost and found, searched my inventory, but they are nowhere to be found. Can anybody help me with this? I'm new and trying to get used to everything, how do I message the seller's? Thanks in advance.

Hello, if you accepted them then in theory they should indeed be in your inventory. Open up your inventory tab, open the recent tab, and see if they are in there. If need be, show filters by clicking the little white gear icon at the bottom or your recent inventory and set the days or hours to a time before you accepted your purchase. Note that your purchases might need to be unpacked in which case they will show as an object in your inventory in an orange cube icon. If you still need to contact the seller, create a new notecard by clicking the plus sign at the bottom of your inventory, choose new notecard, name it, type in your situation and save it. Make sure to include your full second life name, not your real life name. Open up the sellers profile and share your notecard with them. They will read it when they get a chance, many merchants are very busy but will contact you as soon as they read your notecard. If your items were copy then they shouldn't mind resending you a new object.

If you purchased these items from the Marketplace, log in to the Marketplace, click My Marketplace and then My account on top right, then on Order history on the left (or just go to https://marketplace.secondlife.com/orders). That page will show you the details on your Marketplace orders, including merchant name(s). Send IMs or notecards as appropriate (best to check the merchant's inworld profile to see if they have a preferred method or alternate contact).

ETA: If you made these purchases inworld, you can look at your Transaction History to find the name(s) of the seller(s).

I'm fairly new too, but try the following in the suggested order,

1. look in recent tab (if you know where that is in inventory)

2. if that doesn't work for you, go back to the normal tab and type just one of the words that are relevant to the name of what you accepted, if you don't find it, erase that and type another of the words (always rem to make the search field clear afterwards or you'll wonder why you don't have much in your inventory 8^)

3. go back to where you purchased the product and there are usually contact details, or if you know where another product by the same creator or vendor is, right click and pretend to 'edit' and then look up the creator and their profile and, IM them politely and explain, they will be helpful . . . (if you were given it by another Avi then check your recent chats perhaps and see who that was and IM them)

4. begin a ticket with SL from the website URL secondlife.com by logging in etc.,
