On Region Restarts

Regions will be restarted if they have been running for more than 10 days on Tuesday (Main Channel) and Wednesday (RCs) regardless of whether or not new code is being deployed, for the general health and well being of the Simulators.  Nothing beats turning it off and then on again … once in a while.

As always, please plan events around these maintenance windows.  However, if you are hosting an event on Tuesday or Wednesday when we’re not deploying new code, you can restart your region ahead of time to avoid interruption.

Thankyou for getting these up nice and early this week, Caleb.  Would it be pointless to ask why there were no communications at all last week, despite there being RC rolls?

It was mentioned at one of the meetings I attended last week that illness had been making the rounds. I don't recall asking for more specific details as offices can be icky environments at times. 🤧

Does this mean that EEP will now be on all RC Channels? The release notes for LeTigre  doesn't say anything about EEP.

Since no mention is made of it in the code to be rolled out to the RCs other than Magnum, I doubt it.

I'm actually a touch more confused. The release notes for Magnum mention EEP. Is it rolling there this week as well, meaning it will be on BlueSteel and Magnum?

Slowly al lot of Customers owning a Magnum Region and  who all pay yours and all other Lindens daily Bread and Butter with their Landfee get very angry about that. 

We all want EEP on Magnum as providet in the first Posting!! And that NOW!!!

And dont forget who pays your monthly Income.

There is just so much wrong with this post, I can't even begin, except to say, please do not speak for everyone. I'm fairly confident you are not official spokesperson. 

If you are so desperate to have EEP on your region, and are unable to wait out the normal process, then contact Support and request (politely if you can manage that) to have your region moved to the BlueSteel channel. It's not that difficult.

If there were a huge demand for this, it would be one thing, but surely the vast majority of folks don't yet know enough about EEP to care one way or another, so a region owner here and there requesting a channel change shouldn't add all that much workload.

It's harder for those of us on Mainland. I own parcels on a bunch of Mainland regions, including several each of Magnum and LeTigre, but by some fluke not a single one is currently BlueSteel. I eventually found some BlueSteel land a friend owns and he's agreed to let me experiment. (Having friends is real handy sometimes!)

So I'm all set, but the original mix-up in this thread, where Magnum and BlueSteel were swapped, got me pondering: Is it better for LL's purposes -- and for its customers' purposes -- to keep new features in the same channel as they develop toward release, or to swap them around between channels? I can make up advantages for each approach. I wonder if this was ever considered, perhaps back when the RC channels were introduced.

My wife and I spend about $ 4,600 a year just for our 2 regions plus the premium account, and if you wait a long time and hear from a lot of other very high paying SL customers that they are also waiting for EEP for example to set real 24 Hour long day cycles or to use 2 or more levels, you get angry at some point. Only announce that EEP also comes on Magnum RC and then a short time later say "I'm sorry, fallacy, it will not be this time" annoyed paying customers and you feel endlessly crazy. This is a fully legitimate reaction from people who think not only in SL stereotypes but by real rules and requirements that clients direct to a company that they pay for services. The idea, requesting a server changing we had by ourself but at this time there was only 1 slot free witch doesnt make much sense when you own 2 regions.

It must have slipped my mind that the amount of money one chooses to spend in SL is directly proportional to the level of rudeness one can express.

It seems you have anger issues. Caleb is human, obviously humans make mistakes. Caleb made a mistake, please stop acting like you haven't made a simple mistake even once in your life.

Also as has been said, if you are this keen on EEP and this angry I'd highly recommend calming the F down and then send a polite support ticket with a request to possible move your regions to the BlueSteel channel.

I pay even more than you and one of my regions happens to be Blue Steel.

I can tell you, you don't want it yet. It's not quite ready. I think they even retracted it from Blue Steel pretty fast. So, cool down, relax and wait for the full release of the finished product. It should be right around the corner now.

The documentation for EEP isn't even complete yet (at least now what I would consider complete). Not sure why anyone would be demanding access to it now other than for testing purposes (in which case go on aditi?)
