Doing a little "detective" work myself, I see your partner still runs the escort service.  It's not rocket science for any guy that may want to experience your extra curricular activities to see you might also rat him out to his partner.   Those 2 businesses clash big time in my opinion.

Beside that, at the risk of being the one here to state the obvious, if junior was using an alt to cheat you can't disclose that information to your client.

Also, if they are married in real life, you can destroy lives and families.  Do you think you can live with that?

You can tell someone some [one] else is using a different account. What you can't tell them is the user name of the alt or any other information that is not included in the profile of that account.

You can also convey what was said in a conversation. What you can't do is share the chat logs.

Hi and thanks for all the replies.

I haven't thought about him/her actually using an ALT to cheat. That could make it really challenging, nearly impossible. Also somebody mentioned its difficult to have such an agency and at the same time owning an escort club. There is some sort of conflict of interests there.

The escort club doesn't actually work well. Very few clients (other than my regulars). The only thing that works aczually quite well, is the recruiting and training part. Hence we are thinking about reducing the operation to an escort hiring agency for another (much bigger and nicer) club.

That way I could use the space (and prims!) for something else. At the end of the day, what we are really interested in is advertising our affiliate products.

Escorts do not have a very high social acceptance either, do they?

For your next endeavour, might I suggest going into politics? Holds up sarcasm sign, just in case.

...... I am an online marketing consultant in RL.

Toss the drama in the trash, it really doesn't need more help, its pretty good at self replicating as it is.

Perhaps consider using your RL skills. There's no end of businesses in SL, if you can figure out a magic formula for marketing in (and outside) SL then you have yourself a service to offer new (and potentially existing) businesses.

What? Neither of these occurred to you?

For these reasons alone, even apart from the minefield of privacy and TOS violations, I'm with those who say that this should be done as roleplay only. That is, after all, pretty much all SL escorting is too, even if you do *gasp* use voice.

Of course. Thats also part of the fun.

Sounds to me as though what you really enjoy is acting out taboo roles/identities. There's no shortage of opportunities for that in SL.

There is no privacy or TOS violations for convincing someone's husband to go to bed with you.

...unless you do by blackmailing him...

Like what? give me 1000L or I'll tell your wife we had sex?

Seriously?

Even that isn't a TOS violation my dear Fiona.

This whole thread is about seducing a husband, the wife has already paid me, I snap a few pictures, and send them to her. Case closed.

Maybe we need a determination from Dakota Linden

How come I'm not surprised you don't find that abusive? ... Just keep in mind Lindens can exclude you from the service for more than TOS violations... that special clause was not included because the lawyers were having a funny day ;)

And how is it that I'm not surprised that YOU do?

It has a lot to do with having sex with someones husband and getting paid for it.

You would have been doing that more or less every day as an escort. What's the difference? Getting the wives to pay you this time? A proper honeytrap PI for the wives would discuss with her clients how far they wanted her to try to go and stop when she had the evidence she needed. (Mahzer Mahmoud, aka the Fake Sheikh, exposed lots of famous women as doing sex work, without having sex with any of them.)

I get that you like roleplaying at doing scandalous things (though you might be overestimating their shock value within SL), but if the thought of alts and the conflict of interest hadn't occurred to you, you may find that business is slow. You were planning an army of well-presented alts yourself for this work, weren't you?

Keep it to overt roleplay.

Revisiting Fiona's comment about blackmail, I suppose anything that causes stress to another player or diminishes their enjoyment of the game is ARable. However, blackmail has nothing to do with the original OP's business model.

There's nothing in the TOS that says you can't have sex with anyone you want (except of course kids)

There's nothing in the TOS that says you can't take pictures.

There's nothing in the TOS that says you can't share those pictures with anyone you want.

If wifey gets photographic proof that hubby is cheating on her, hubby has only himself to blame for not keeping his manhood inside his pants.

If another forum member wants to post the relevant sections of the TOS that says any of those 3 things IS against the rules, then I'll withdraw my  application for employment in the OP's enterprise.

It's all about "your life, your rules". If hubby wants to live his second life as lying cheating scum, then just as in RL he runs the risk of getting caught, and paying the consequences.

If I recall, you need to ask the parcel owner's permission if you take pictures on their land and intend to publish them, I think the definition of publish means outside of SL. But I also think sending a snapshot of somebody to another person in SL without getting the agreement of the subjects in the snapshot might be coming close to the invasion of privacy that sharing IM's constitutes?

Things might have changed since I last had an island, though.

Way back in the days when I first joined SL I got involved trying to help a friend who was being stalked by somebody, who used alts or others to cam in and snapshot her. It caused her a lot of distress, but she managed to ride it out without AR-ing them, mainly by belittling their efforts at first and then subsequently ignoring them. But it wasn't a pleasant experience even for her friends, and I think the tone of the thread in the last few posts is moving to a similar place.

I'm sure everyone here thinks this whole thing is horrible and despicable, infringing on a man's RIGHT  to run around cheating on his faithful devoted wife.

Or vice versa, I'm totally not gonna be sexist here.

Besides, if your partner is cheating on you, eventually you'll figure it out without any help at all. This just adds a little spice to the mix

Well since some people say EVERYTHING in SL is rp since none of it is really happening, how then is what the OP is proposing NOT rp?

Actually, the TOS doesn't say you must have someone's permission to take a snapshot of them. You do for machinima, but not snapshots. Which I find a bit weird, honestly.

I find the machinima rule to be strange as well.

  1. For Snapshots, check whether the covenant for the land prohibits snapshots. If it does, then you need special permission from the land owner to take the snapshot. If it allows snapshots or doesn’t address them, then you do not need special permission from the land owner as long as you comply with any terms that may be in the covenant.
  2. For Machinima, check whether the covenant for the land allows machinima. If it does not or doesn’t address machinima, then you need special permission from the land owner to capture machinima. If it allows machinima, then you do not need special permission from the land owner as long as you comply with any terms that may be in the covenant.

http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Snapshot_and_machinima_policy

You do not need permission from anyone to share snapshots. You only need permission from the land owner to take snapshots if it is against the covenant for that region.

OP, quite apart from the fact that you haven't considered the most obvious obstacles and potential pitfalls of this line of work, and don't appear to be offering anything that a suspicious partner couldn't do themselves for free with an alt...how do you think this thread is going to make you look to your potential clients?

You are targeting women who suspect their partners of being unfaithful. Yet here you are, cheerfully admitting that your motivation is getting off on them paying you to shag their husbands. Not only that, but you intend to publicise the experiences. Do you think that's going to make them want to hire you?

For someone who claims to work in online marketing, you don't seem to have given much thought to your own internet branding.

This whole enterprise is being executed so badly that I can't imagine you're serious about it. Are you trolling? Or is it some clever way to drum up publicity for the escort business which I think you said was flagging?

Wow why so hostile towards the OP? Are you one of these unfaithful spouses and you're scared of getting caught or something? Her idea seemed like a lot of fun and if private investigators are a thing irl, why not have them in SL?

Which brings me to the other point being addressed,

I don't know why anyone would ever want to cheat on SL or IRL. If you want to have sex with hundreds of different strangers you are 100% free to do so, just don't get into a closed relationship or any relationship at all for that matter. Now is that so hard?
