I did not write this article, nor do I know the author but I thought it might be useful to other modelers in here.

And while the author focuses on a specific style, he brushes on a few important topics that apply to all game-grade models.

Great article. I love the low poly look that is part of many current indie games. 

One great example is Equilinox, an evolution-based game from a dev known as ThinMatrix who makes some excellent video blogs on his development process as well as a lot of technical blogs on writing a game engine.

Nice!

Some really good points in that article although I hope nobody thinks we need to go that low in SL to keep the lag under control.

There's a quote in the article (incorrectly attributed to Einstein) that I think sums it up:

Quote

Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler.

That is one of the three keys to optimisation. The other two are:

Quote

Use all available materials, tools and methods for all they are worth!

and:

Kill your darlings!
