Pet Peeve: people using the Upcoming Events to list their rentals, or events listed that are so explicit in the listing, it makes me think that no one in LL is actually monitoring the Upcoming Events listings anymore. Is there any way we can block this on our Dashboard?  🤨

Another one to that, people will add you on Facebook just to be able to advertise their business. My wall isn't a billboard and I will certainly not support the idea that you will either tag me, or just share it on my wall about a certain landowning company or whatever business to have free advertisement space. I kinda have this running gag though, if someone does it next time. I am gonna send them a PM asking them for a fee to initially post on my wall, and then a weekly fee to just keep it there and post new ads. xD

I don't want to have to change my blogs or my methods, just to appease the sponsors.

Never compromise your creative vision to appease anyone.

I would rather be dropped by a sponsor and subsequently only buy the items from them that I want to blog, than to feel obliged to change the way I blog or take photos just to please them.

Depending on the brand and how they release their items (one at a time or en masse, etc) it might be worth contacting the creator (or their blogger manager), explaining that you love them wholeheartedly but some of their recent releases have made you feel uncomfortable about blogging them, and asking if the 'new items' list can be expanded to encompass 'one of the last X number of releases' as long as that's before any particular events they may be featured in are over. This might mean some less overtly-sexual items are within the 'new items to be blogged' list, and you can then blog those.

Granted, if all of their releases are now making you feel uncomfortable then it's probably time to sever that business relationship, and - with love and politeness - explain to them why you will no longer blog their products, thank them and wish them well, and tell them you will henceforth only purchase the items from them that you can accommodate into your own personal sense of style.

I guess to get to the point, it just bugs me how over sexual SL has become. Every flicker photo is "tasteful" nudity or blatant porn. You will find the odd blogger on flickr, who like me. Maintains that modest look, but lately it feels like that is hard to come by. Especially since a lot of events are promoting this ideology. I know I am gonna be labelled a prude. But It just bugs me deep down in my core.

Sometimes I think it would be nice if searches for a new outfit didn't end with "that's nice, can I have the version that wasn't designed for a prostitute?"

Is this a peeve?: New one-day alt account hunts down all your posts and comments just so they can flag "Confused" on them (rather than laugh or like, etc.) then sends a PM with the most vitriolic, expletive, epithet-laced verbiage one can think up and gives no clue what you did to offend or annoy them.

But there is the opposite of a peeve (a delight!) that you can flag PM messages the same as thread messages, so: plonk.

There was a most unusual reply, now removed, to one of your Scripting forum posts about mouselook controls. I mean, off-their-meds level of unusual.

Now that I think about it, "Confused" is probably apt.

For some of us, that's been happening since the first forum post we ever made... 😋

Oh, really? I didn't see it. Maybe it was flagged by someone and they thought it was me. LOL SL and the Forums, is an ADVENTURE!!! :D

Oh, I know there are regulars who don't like me because they inject their emotion into my emotionlessly-written words and so on. I also suspect there are fans, but only by hypothesis based on how some of my comments are reacted to (where I wouldn't have expected any reaction at all) and that's all fine.

As with all people, those who get to know me well usually like me, very few despise me (and usually for petty politically-motivated reasons ~shrugs~)

So, *high-fives* you in solidarity of having our own forums haterzez!!! :D

Oh! My pet peeve to go along with @Alyona Su's pet peeve!

People who make drive-by snotty posts, then get offended when they get called out on it, retaliate by sending the types of messages Alyona was referring to, both in-world and here in the forums, then quickly hit "block" or "ignore" because they can dish it, but can't take it.

So, cowards. My pet peeve is cowards.

Yup, this is simultaneously annoying and tedious. Can I add outfits which seem to be constructed entirely from black gaffer tape? Not sure what USA equivalent vocabulary is.

Also wouldn't Gaffer's tape really hurt? Especially taking it off the nipple. That stuff is some really sticky, heavy duty tape.

Acuz snowflakes are as snowflakes do, they dump on your head like poop then melt instantly as soon as you look at them. Poor little things! Hahaha

Gaffers tape is designed to stay put like super glue, but peeling it off is almost as easy as a Post-It note. (Yes, really!) We use it at our office (my RL work) so it doesn't ruin convention center carpets or wall paint and stuffs. LOL So, ironically, making an outfit out of tape, gaffers tape would be my choice! It's like the opposite of Duct and Duck Tape! (Duct is silver, duck is green, yes really!)

Ugh... my RL job is communications so I know a lot of really useless, you-don't care stuff. Sorry. Bahahaha!

We usually go with bright green or bright red (to cover project power cords and things leading to the wall so people don't trip over them). :)

It's a very special tape that Hollywood invented that they use on movie sets and comes in many colors, so here you go, get started on making a Gaffer Outfit!!! LOL.

To add to the confusion, after reading @Alyona Su 's comments above I think I muddled my tapes. I'm glad those poor cold avatars won't find it painful to remove their outfits. The uncomfortable positions, and facial expressions pictured must be due to a different cause.

Mind you, we can't be sure, maybe they got a mega-pack of some generic unbranded stuff from that popular online auction site, and only discovered afterwards that it only sticks to what you don't want it to?

For those of us who might actually wear tape over our nips, we love the pain that comes from ripping the tape off.

What about the inevitable fluff sticking to the remaining adhesive though? A good thick thermal vest would blur the contours, maybe a safer option for us wusses.

A little rubbing alcohol removes the adhesive, and if it stings a little, that's even better!

But if you want to wear a thermal vest with little gaffer tape X's over where your nips would be, go for it!

For the world at large there is Gaffer Tape; for the true masochists there is super glue on wax on duct tape for practical removal maximum-effect. Bahahahaha!

Ugh, on-topic: A pet peeve are the lazy-boned typists (I know, covered countless times before, but seeing it is a recent comment only a few above this one) - like u, r, ppl, and basically any other txtspk (text-speak) while using a FULL KEYBOARD WITH SPACE FOR TWO HANDED OPERATION.

Other pet peeve: people who use all caps when it isn't necessary to emphasize their statement when bold and italic emphasis style exist in the buiult-in system.
