Once, years ago, someone invited me to his home after we met in an adult sim. I took the TP and ended up in a very normal, rather stylish (for the time) home. Then he ushered me into the living room, ostensibly for a drink...only for me to fall through a hidden trapdoor into his dungeon.

I was quite impressed.

I never connected you with your store until just awhile ago, I thought to myself.. hmm the store owner's name sounds familiar. I think he is on the forums and yep I did a search on your name in the forums here... and here you are. I love your stuff!!

Pushy, aggressive people. They think that just because they like your looks that you are obligated to reply to their IMs and offer sex to them. Grrrrrrr.

People who stand around as if they are royalty and look down on others who are trying to have fun. Example: I love to do random dances and be silly. I am a joyful person. Yet, there is always someone who can't stand the fact that I am having fun. I tell them to derender me, but they just want to b*tch about me in local chat and act as if how dare I crack a smile.

(In this story, I suspect that I was the "pet peeve" . . .)

At some point in my first few months in SL, a friend at a chat place that was a kind of home to me offered to show me his dungeon. He was an absolute sweetheart -- he bought me my first ever pair of FM boots! -- and I had complete trust in him. (He later took to the GD forum with an alt, and became a very popular poster because he was funny and kind.)

So, I said ok, and he TPed me to his place, and gave me a tour of his varied and impressively large collection of BDSM equipment. It was fascinating because I did not, at that point, know much about BDSM, and he did an excellent job explaining, not merely what the devices "did," but what their point was.

Finally, we came to a sort of black box that looked a bit like an oversized safe. I've forgotten what he specifically termed it, but it was, he explained, essentially a sensory deprivation chamber for his subs. He thought it might be low-key and gentle enough for me to try. Our ensuing conversation went something like this:

ME: So, if I sit in there, I can't move my avatar or do anything?

          HIM: That's right.

ME: And I can't talk to you or anyone else?

          HIM: That's the idea, yes.

ME: And my screen will just be entirely black?

HIM. Yes. Would you like to try it?

ME: Well, ok, sure. But can you hang on a moment while I go grab a book?

Thus began, and ended, my brief and very inglorious career as a sub.

As someone who comes from a NPDA (no public displays of affection) family, I can sometimes be seen as a walking sensory deprivation chamber.

I took my long ago SL-ex exploring on a leash a few times. She loved it initially, but grew weary when I started pushing her off edges so I could see her bounce up and down like a yo-yo. I think the last straw was when I explained how having her on the leash saved me from imagining the panic children feel when they discover they've been separated from their mother in the grocery store and that I had to imagine that feeling because, though I often got separated from her in the grocery store, I never gave a damn.

Though my career as a domme wasn't as brief as your turn on the other side, I think I may have matched you for ingloriousity.

Better than me! I used collars and leashes on alts for a sort of auotofollow lol

Someone once begged to be my pet. I had no clue what to do with him. So I had him chase down prims I shot into the void because I mixed up x and y coords. So I had a pet for a day I think?

and yet another failed submissive story.....

I sent one of my alts to the Gor sims to learn what the heck that was about.  My career ended after I had the nerve to talk in IM to some guy who was having sex with me as a Paga something that began with an s and ended in a t. It's not like there was any conversation going on in local either, but he informed me that my job was to worship his member and to shut up.  I faked a crash and never went back. The aforementioned member was not only not color matched it stuck out through my back by about 4 body widths.  I'll not comment about that and what it might mean.

Policies I'd like for mainland:

  • No skyboxes. We need those CPU cycles down at ground level. Land ownership stops at 128m above ground level.
  • No high walls around parcels. If you want total isolation, go elsewhere.
  • Bellesaria-type ban line and security orb rules.

LL should offer a free moving service - swap your parcel for one on an Isolation Island, where you can have skyboxes, walls, and ban lines. LL does a bulk move for your objects. You get to sell the old parcel, and LL deducts L$1/m^2 to pay for the new parcel. You get your isolation, you get some money, and someone else gets a parcel under the new policies.

Just making that offer would start the cleanup of mainland.

There's one problem with this. Most people aren't looking for isolation. They're looking for privacy. Major difference between the two things.

Your own little square. All to yourself. You can put up security orbs, walls, and ban lines. No one will bother you ever again.

If that's what you want, get off mainland and move to one of these. Several big landlords are in this business. This one is in Monet.

I think it's pretty obvious why most of those parcels are empty. I wouldn't want to live there either. There is nothing appealing about those parcels.

heres one, Rude Club owners who think their big stuff in SL now because of them owning a club

Yesterday I was exploring on an alt and I seen an escort club pop up again on Virtual Secrets this week, so I thought " Eh, why not, I'll check it out" So I go there, was looking around, there was literally noone there save for a couple scripted bots and a staff member. Signs weren't rezzing for me and I had apparently walked into a staff only room that said if I didn't leave in 20 seconds I would be booted, so naturally I leave the room. I get sent home anyway, so I IMed the staff member who had been there, she had been kind to me and I asked why I had been ejected.

Maybe about 20 minutes later I pop back in on this account ( No other reason truthfully, I was just on that account but I wanted ro continue looking at the place, because for an escort place it was really well put together. I start to notice that the amount of bots had increased, and it was obvious they were bots because they all had the same rez day, had names like "Unleashed demon, Unleashed Pet" etc etc, so naturally i assume they were traffic bots. Now I will admit I coulda worded my  question about them differently because I phrased it something like " So......I notice 6 of the people here have the same rez day....their traffic bots arent they?" Again I worded that badly, I came off as rude, I fully admit and take responsibility for that. With that being said, one of the 2 owners that was there literally walks right up to my avatar, I'm talking pretty much bumps into it and starts being VERY rude to me, saying if I wasn't so stupid I would know they were something scripted  (They explained they hadn't been traffic bots but something else, it was a lot of scripting talk that I honestly couldn't understand so it was lost on me lol)

The second Owner, and the 1st owners wife said something along the lines of "Keep talking as much as your weird long asds  torso'ed avatar wants" ( In their attempt at being rude to me they typoed the word ass, I literally sat there for a bit wondering what asds meant before I realized xD)

Now to to me this came out of no where because aside from the poor way I worded my question, I hadn't disrespected them, called them names or anything. now keep in mind I had only been at this club twice. The second Owner popped off and said "Why are you so obsessed? We arent going to hire you". I found this hilarious because although I had looked at the application, I hadn't filled it out or submitted it, nor was I going to, plus they said it like it woulda been some privilege dven though the 2 times i had popped in there it had been empty.

I had finally had enough and them accusing me of being obsessive twice, being rude and then telling me they weren't going to hire me, I popped off and said

" Oh thats good, I didn't fill out an app anyways ;)" and they kicked me

I am sorry, but your just one of MANY escort club owners in SL, That doesn't instantly earn you some elated status or make you royalty, So don't come off as an ass towards me

The only difference (so to speak) between a scripted agent and a traffic bot is the purpose for which they are intended. Scripted agents have many uses. Traffic bots are scripted agents.

They're for people who want to put up walls or windowless buildings. If you want a private space, areas like that are built for it. Like a skybox, but at ground level and with more prims.

Someone: "If you have Fire Storm you can <standard viewer function>"
Me: Any viewer can do that so what ever your using is fine.
Someone: "Yeah but only FS can <do this other basic function>."
Me: That's in LL's viewer too.

That may be what they are for but that doesn't mean that is what people want. Obviously, what you want and what others want are completely different things. If people don't want to live on parcels like those, they aren't going to.  And there's nothing you or LL can do to force people into doing so. People always have the option to not own land or rent somewhere else that is more to their liking. Be that mainland or private estates.

The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one.

Pet Peeves....lord let’s do this 😅. Okay, list time :

-All variations of profile flubbery that relate to and or include anything to do with voice, text only, I don’t read local, mess with my family, mess with me, I’m a brat, I don't do drama and so on and so forth

-Clothing especially on marketplace that doesn’t have a demo because the creator “doesn’t do demos” which is usually code for “my product is crappy”

-Sim owners who claim a superiority over the common mortal and think that because their sim has been around for 10 years that somehow gives them a say in the affairs of other people and get irate when the common mortal doesn’t do as they demand

-People calling their boyfriends daddy. It’s weird, its creepy, why would you want to have sex with your father. Also guys who call their girlfriends baby girl, same question reversed

-When you are enjoying yourself and the fun police come storming in, riot shields at the ready and irate af that your fun is interfering with their misery

-SL prim/mesh babies

-People who claim that their boo is the love of their life and they couldn’t imagine their life without them and are getting married later that day when they only met 6 hours earlier

-People who take every opportunity to bring the conversation back to a long and lengthy explanation of their own misery

-People in world who claim to have mental illnesses that clearly don’t and wear them like a badge of honour and is the first thing they tell you about themselves “oh hey I’m bipolar I have ups and downs”

- @Klytyna no longer posting on the forum. Her wit and sophistication is sorely missed around here 😂😅

Pet peeves, hmmm.

  1. Avatars that are years old and still stay firmly planted in the designated TP/LM area so you land on them and do that air swim thing.
  2. Stores that still have their items in boxes that you have to rez on the ground, and they have the land set to no rez rights.
  3. Outdated LM's that send you under their new building, or in the ocean, or both.
  4. Spiral staircases. I. Just. Can't.
  5. Having to pay for a demo.

The longer I've been in SL the mellower I've gotten. I rarely get peeved, just sigh a bit behind the monitor and roll my eyes. Also, I tend to not hang out where other people are, so that helps. Misanthropes R Us!

People who say in their profile, "I keep sl and rl separate"  Seriously?

Yes seriously!  What is means is that their RL is none of your business and they do not wish to discuss it in SL with anyone.  Whilst in SL they wish to focus only on SL things.  This was actually very common (if not the norm) when I started SL and people coming into SL mainly for meaningful personal relationships that cross over from SL to RL were less common.

So I guess they've never been mad or upset at anyone in sl.  I bet they've never cried or been hurt by someone or from something that has taken place in sl. Nor have they ever been sexually stimulated by something or someone in sl.  Who are these emotionless people that can run around sl and keep rl and sl separated? I believe that they may keep some personal information to themselves. But I'm not buying the rest.

What a load of horse poo.  You don't have to be an emotionless person to not allow a lot of SL things or people to affect you very deeply.  Lots of people don't come to SL for deep and meaningful relationships.  A lot of people come to SL for a bit of entertainment and fun to take a break from their RL for a while.
