Purist though I may be, that looks pretty good (minus the pickle, I don't like pickles).

I was pretty doubtful before I tried it. Chicago styled hotdogs hit all the notes: smoky, sweet, spicy, sour and salty.

One of my peeve is when a topic is derailed with food discussion.

If you'll note, though, many comments are listing their food peeves so ON TOPIC BABY!

And said in my best NYC Yiddish accent, "And what? You want us all to be kvetching about jerks in photo threads? And what is this topic? Chopped liver?"

Sweet Sue should have never been allowed near a kitchen. Home style goodness?

And yes, my Kroger carries this atrocity.

You just won the thread....

I have sat quietly and politely through a discussion that has extolled the non-existent virtues of Marmite, and seen a mindless and tasteless attack upon the goodness that is mushrooms.

But this . . . this goes too far. I can be silent no longer.

What the actual hell?????

This is allowed????

We so need a vomit emoji.

Poor chicken. So undignified to end up like that.

I tried to find recipes using this thing, and found this. It made me cackle.

Sweet Sue Canned Whole Chicken

Link is safe from photos of canned chicken unless you purposely scroll through the slide show.

It's funny you should say that, this guy I subscribe to on Youtube often tastes weird stuff.

I find it amusing that people who will eat hot dogs, bologna, Spam, deviled ham, Underwood white chicken meat spread and other such things but they balk at a whole canned chicken. It's all canned meat.

You certainly make a valid point, but I think the issue with the canned chicken is it still looks like chicken, whereas all the other meats you listened are ...

.... this is the moment where I turn vegetarian isn't it?  I definitely feel very very sick right now.

You've heard of Hush Puppies, haven't you?

Bwahahahaha!

My father told me that's what those were, when we were on some family holiday and eating at a southern Howard Johnson's. Fried puppies. I don't think I've ever eaten one...

OMG, that would have been horrible.

I've tried hush puppies a few times, but never like them and really just couldn't see the reasoning behind eating fried dough.  Then again, in the South, they fry everything - and that is all the reasoning they need.

Are we cooking and eating our pet peeves now? Savages!

In Kentucky there's talk of the pet peeves bein' fried up and served with peanut butter "fudge."

/me runs out before Beth can hit me

and btw, peanut butter "fudge" was this abomination that showed up at every frikkin KY work potluck (and the idjits did it WEEKLY)... As far as I can tell it is simply peanut butter mixed with enough powdered sugar to make it harden enough where you can cut it into squares... every single potluck by a variety of "cooks"... the whole while I was being informed that northerners can't cook right

Yebbit, it ain't that. Just look at that thing! Poor chicken gave its life for that! That chicken jelly, the slouching skin, the... blargh.  (Hot dogs and bologna aren't canned meat unless you're buying it wrong.)
