Oh I just have one pet peeve. I really can't stand people who are annoyed by either of the following: empty profiles, 'unreadable' fonts, unmatching body parts, flexi prims, AO-less avis, jazz hands,

DJs/hosts teleport inviting their "friends"

I'm not apportioning blame for what's been going on in this forum recently, because that's one thing that appears to start a thread on its downward spiral. Like many of us here - I am absolutely

Censorship asterisks are fun, but those ones up there I added myself. Apparently f*** has a sake! It’s one of my personal favorite acronyms. I wish I have more opportunity to use it.😀

Ahah! But that means it would be the opposite of "for goodness' sake" - Hence, I suspect people aren't using it the way it should be used. Hahaha! Such as: "FFS you should embrace your misery!"

Aw FFS  @Amina Sopwith, if it ended where would we go to post our petty annoyances, get attacked for said annoyances, then post a bunch of GIFs and memes? Oh right, anywhere in the SL forums.

That was also a Hitchhikers' Guide reference, although I think it came from the second book.

I was tickled that someone explained the first reference.

Ah, thanks for the explanation. I thought you meant this thread, and I was looking for an excuse to use FFS in a sentence. 😀

Haha, no. At one point, I think in The Restaurant at the End of the Universe, Arthur Dent gets hit in the small of the back by a tea party.

I've been waiting over a year for my profile pic to become relevant.

Ah, dear, sweet Eva, at a lack of times/places to use FFS. FFS, I use it all the time, in context, n stuff. :)

Quote

Oh freddled gruntbuggly,
Thy micturations are to me, (with big yawning)
As plurdled gabbleblotchits, in midsummer morning
On a lurgid bee,
That mordiously hath blurted out,
Its earted jurtles, grumbling
Into a rancid festering confectious organ squealer. [drowned out by moaning and screaming]
Now the jurpling slayjid agrocrustles,
Are slurping hagrilly up the axlegrurts,
And living glupules frart and stipulate,
Like jowling meated liverslime,
Groop, I implore thee, my foonting turlingdromes,
And hooptiously drangle me,
With crinkly bindlewurdles,mashurbitries.
Or else I shall rend thee in the gobberwarts with my blurglecruncheon,
See if I don't!

You're welcome.

Vogon Poetry is FFS. Definitely FFS.

@Seicher Rae: I concur. Context is so important.

Bahahaha!!!

At least I didn't quote Paula Nancy Millstone Jennings!

The dead swans lay in the stagnant pool.
They lay. They rotted. They turned
Around occasionally.
Bits of flesh dropped off them from
Time to time.:And sank into the pool's mire.
They also smelt a great deal.

but what does FGS stand for?

I think I know, but since I don't know for sure (and Google didn't cooperate by agreeing with me) I'll go with what I'm sure it's not: Fried Green Snakes or Fetid Goose Slime. It could legitimately be the Florida Geological Survey, but I doubt that's what was meant here. At least I've narrowed the possibilities down by a tiny fraction of a percent.

I have a new peeve!  Earlier I was forced to google an obscure(to me) reference to some popular main stream television show.  I don't watch much in the way of popular main stream television.  I prefer the offbeat obscure gems that I sometimes get addicted to.  I hate being reminded of how weird I am! The only thing I hate more than that is re-discovering the fact that I'm not all that different.

I wanna be special!
