So, I want a set of good animations or poses for Genus Classic head, to be used for photos. The Vista ones loaded in my Zoe AO work pretty well, but Vista apparently does not sell animations just for heads: they come bundled with full AOs, and they are in any case a little limited. The new Genus ones aren't bad, but are again pretty limited and somewhat quirky and unreliable in how they work. I'm looking for smiles, laughs, grins, smirks, etc.

A search on the Market Place hasn't come up with much. I've search for Bento + Expressions, and + Face, and + Facial (don't do that one, trust me), and + Emotive, and came up with essentially three hits in total, one of which was unimpressive, one of which was terrible (it was like I was playing the lead in the Exorcist; it'll take me days for the sight of that to fade from my memory), and one of which doesn't have a demo.

Has anyone had any luck finding Bento head poses -- static or animations -- that work well? As I say, I'm using the Genus Classic, but the Vista ones work well, so I'm assuming that many others might also?

Lelutka sells some that might work on your head (forget the HUD there is always boxed the animation pack included)

GA.EG also sells addons (not sure if you can just get the animations or have to extract them from the HUD) https://marketplace.secondlife.com/de-DE/stores/35845

Chrysanthemum specialices in facial AOs. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/de-DE/stores/196357

SEmotion has several head poses (even fullperm) https://marketplace.secondlife.com/de-DE/stores/16608

Kokolores started dabbling in bento faces https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/KoKoLoReS-Subtle-expressions-BENTO/11657262

translating furniture animations

those two sets are expression HUDs that on top trigger fitting bento expressions for furniture triggered face morphs:

Happy Dispatch does this one https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/HD-bento-Facial-expression-HUD-BENTO-poseao/11027732,with add ons to the HUD available inworld - he also does one for hands

Sweet Animations did this https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/BENTO-EXPRESSION-HUD-V13/11827184

free HUDs

and finallys those two huds are free:

https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Starlust-Subtle-Bento-Expressions-HUD/11354536 (Starlust also does some payed HUDs)

https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Bento-Enhanced-Head/15768633 (also includes an example head to play around with)

If you are wanting something for expressions then you may want to demo the LeLutka Axis HUD

It's not an animation hud but lets you make tons of static expressions for photos..

I say demo it first so that you can see how well it works with each of your heads first..

It's 1500 lindens..

I'm using the Genus beta classic head myself and it works really well for my photos..

I have to put a +1 for Lelutka Axis hud for poses. It is one of the best purchases I ever made in SL.

It's very versatile. I have already played with it wearing heads from different brands and all worked very well because with this HUD we have total control on the face expression, moving the facial bones until we have the pose just how we like it. It's also possible to use a pose we already have and start from it, changing only what we don't like to much.

You can try the demo and play with it on their store to have a clear idea on how it works.

OMG you guys. I don't know why anyone even bothers with Market Place search: you are the font of all human knowledge!!

This is brilliant, thank you!!

I tried the in-store demo of two of the Chrysanthemum HUDs last night for adjustable expressions: they were not bad, but overall sort of meh, I thought. I should try some of their premade poses. I also tried -- in fact, bought, because I couldn't find a demo in their in-world store -- one of the smaller bundles from SEmotion. I assume that they probably work well on other heads, and maybe even on other Genus heads with a different shape and/or skin than mine, but wow did it not work well with mine!

I'm going to check these out today! Thanks Fionalein!

This looks very much like what I'm looking for! And as I'm using the Genus Classic head too, it's great news that it works well with yours.

Thanks Ceca!!

ETA: Wow, that's one slick little video! LeLutka is obviously doing very well indeed! (Which is no surprise.)

Perfect! I have a feeling that this is probably the one I'll be going for! Thank you!!!

FATE has also a nice hud for hand posing, sad that they don't have in world store anymore.

This is useful: I do want something for hand posing, but I hadn't got that far yet! Too bad there's no demo in-world, but I'll check it out! THANK YOU!

ETA: This looks GREAT!!

Just now, Wulfie Reanimator said:

Don't forget the built-in pose creator of the Black Dragon viewer. Better than any pose you might find and works with anything, if you're patient.

I haven't, actually, although I haven't tried it yet. For standard body posing, I've been using the AnyPose HUD, which works very well, but I should definitely try Black Dragon as well. Thanks!
