curious to see what kind of music everyone likes to listen to.

also wouldn't mind getting a couple new ideas for my home to listen to while there.

Perhaps you might want to work your way through the "What are you listening to now" thread in which I am told exist a veritable cornucopia of the musicians art

I have one of those radios that lets you select from all kinds of different genres, and I even have remotes for changing the station around at different parts of the house, but I rarely ever change it - if I have music on, I listen to a classical station from Italy that doesn't seem to have much advertising (and if there is any, it's in Italian so I don't understand it).  I find it very relaxing. Otherwise, I have the music off in SL and listen to music from my home stereo.

for casual listening then mostly hip hop, nu metal, trance and modern pop. When I want to get mental and jump about then drum & bass and hardstyle

i do also other kinds of music but they are specific to an activity. Opera, theatre, classical, choral, old school ballads at party singalongs, country and folk even in specific moments

If you mean listening to a parcel stream in my SL home then it's set to one I got from a radio that came with a kitchen.  it bores me but I haven't yet found a stream I really like so if I play music it'll be on my headset from YouTube or somesuch. I don't know what to suggest for you since I listen to a wide range of music, though mostly classical and oddities like martial industrial. I'll post one of those in the thread Kanry mentioned. Nobody will like it :D

My preferences are 50's-70's hits, swing of almost any era, smooth jazz and classical.  I have a MyTunes player I usually stream a modern swing YouTube channel on for my media player.  For my parcel stream, it's usually set to a 30-40's era swing station or something from the 70's.

I presently do not have a stream set up at my home and honestly for good reason: I don't like listening to the radio. If I want music, I fire up my media player, pick a playlist and hit play.

Genre wise (and in general) I tend to listen to almost anything except the bulk of modern cRap, screamo (including any Metal wherein the 'vocals' are unintelligible) and the bulk of Christian music.

Music acts as a sort of muse for me.

My musical taste is eclectic, though colored by my aversion to mainstream hits because I'm oppositional. Most of my music discovery was once done through a nightly evening music show on my local public radio station, now it's via the right sidebar on YouTube or through "Live From Here" on public radio, Saturday evenings.

I also get new music from a few SL friends via @Dillon Levenque's private profile feed thread which, over the last eight years has accumulated 9,984 posts, and from here...

In RL, almost always the classical public radio station.  In my own parcel in SL, I either stream that same station or Celtic instrumental music.  Anything else either distracts me or puts my teeth on edge, especially if it has lyrics.

In RL, we have two main Public Radio stations: NPR/All-night Jazz, and Classical. I stream the first.

I never know what stream is on unless its me or my other half streaming for each other.  My bro lives in the sky above me and normally complains he wants romantic stuff on when entertaining  🤔  I need one of those 70's porn style streams or Barry White  :D
