Willow Grove Art Center (WGAC) - a not for profit organization - will soon be opening its doors to an Art School and education center on December 1st, 2018. The expression and application of creative skill is the essence of Second Life. Along with it, we are also going to have Story Time for kids and a Book Reading Club for grownups with Open Mic Nights for everyone!

The aim is to build a community for family-friendly roleplay and cater to different age groups from children to adults and everyone in between! WGAC is a place where people can come together to teach, hold talk shows on various topics like Building, Photography, Djing, Art, blogging, live performances, etc just like in real life.

In Book Reading Club, the members can choose a book to either read, discuss or present one. During Open Mic Nights, people can sing songs, read poetry, crack jokes. The floor is yours!

We are inviting all Second Life residents from different time zones and different languages to volunteer in these amazing community events. You can be a teacher, student, story time book reader for kids, book club facilitator, open mic facilitator or a participating member. All help is most welcome. We will provide class supplies, materials, and projects to enhance a more realistic and engaging roleplay. More information will be given at the time of joining.

That's a nice place you've got there! Very whimsical, I like that.

A question or two if I may. How important is the roleplaying aspect of this? I saw that you were asking for an example of emoting on your application form, and your classroom houses seem to be geared towards children.

Which time zone are activities planned for? (I'm in Europe, so if events are meant to be happening in the afternoon SL time, that's not going to be practical. )

I also saw that you have classrooms for art and music, but I've not seen anything about books / literature (except for the children's Story Time area next to the playground). I work in literature and I am a writer, so anything to do with words I'm interested in. Also, I've done open mic events in SL before, and (dabbled in) managing events (concerts, mainly).

Anything else we could discuss later - that is, if you're interested. :)
