Hi there,

I was looking for help on old forums, but unfortunately no tips have resolved my issue. I'm about ready to throw my hands up in acceptance.

Similar to old topics here's the breakdown -

Problem: Repeatedly logged out of SL after <5 minutes in-world. Avatar freezes (either in place or in movement) before receiving the error message - "You have been logged out of Second Life. This region may be experiencing trouble. Please check your connection to the internet."

Viewer: Firestorm v 5.1.7

System: MacBook Pro (2015), macOS version 10.13.3, 2.7 GHz Corei5 processor, 8GB Memory, Intel Iris Graphics card

Connection: 92Mbps, Latency (unloaded) 14ms, Upload speed 11mbps

Previously failed solutions:
-Changing my password
-Changing my graphics setting to be set to low (on everything)
-Entering into a new (and unpopulated) region
-Moving around constantly

I'm honestly not sure what's going on. I've been able to use SL with no problems until recently on this very same internet connection. Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Renga

Click Help / About in your viewer. Copy everything and paste it here.

Try rebooting your modem and router.  Disconnects are almost always an issue with your internet in some way.   Go to this blog post and start working your way through it:  blog.nalates.net/2011/10/26/troubleshoot-your-sl-connection/

One other thing - is this only happen at one location or multiple locations?  If only one location, try logging in to a different location to see if it is different.

Hi Jewell,

Thank you so much for your quick response! As soon as I saw you mention rebooting the modem, I banged my hand against my head. I'm not sure why I didn't think to do the classic "turn it on and off" again. The reboot has done the trick (at least for now).

I'll close out this forum soon if I can.

Cheers,
R
