Seriously, when a friend I had invited to SL wound up naked in a store, I assured her it happened to everyone sooner or later. But she was so mortified she never came back. 

We long term SLers are a hardy, thick skinned bunch.

I'm pretty sure that I turn red in RL when I first ended up somewhere unexpected naked - before I understood SL a bit better.

It’s odd to me that the sense of immersion, the identification with your avatar, is so immediate. I remember being a noob and terrified of every odd looking avi or unexpected event. Now I wonder why I cared so much about finding a dressing room or someone barged into one I was occupying. 

I guess it’s what the noobs who wander in here hysterical about some little inconvenience or loss of money experience.

I was horrified by my noob experience of logging in to find a notification I was pregnant and due to give birth in 9 days.  I kept logging in looking at my avi and wondering why my shape was the same and how did i get pregnant when all I did was dance and accept a vampire bite.  On day 8 I logged out and didn't log in for 3 days and when I did I was expecting a baby waiting.   I didn't even think run to the forums and ask for help.

I do miss those noob days

Camming someone far away while they are sitting on an adult furniture alone just to missclick trying to move the camera and end up sitting with said person on that furniture which triggers a very lousy sex animation.

My most memorable was within my first week or two.  My second day in I went premium, then got my free 512, back before Linden Homes.  Put a house on the land and decorated it.  A few days later I decide to try making a prim skirt, looked really nice when I was building it in my living room, and selected attach without taking it into inventory.  I attached my entire house.  I IMed the house maker to try to get it off me, because I was still too new to realize I could detach it just like I detach clothing parts.  The vendor was awfully nice about it, but I was so embarrassed, I still get red nearly 13 years later.

Since I spend almost all my free time in SL, most of the dumb stuff revolves around me falling asleep at the keyboard. You don't know how many times I've fallen asleep with my hand on the mouse and accidentally picked up my entire house. Not so embarrassing since there was no one there to see it, but still quite aggravating.

Then there was the time I was in a Master/sub relationship... often I would just stay online awaiting for him since we were in different time zones. Well one night, I fell asleep wearing my talking bits... only to find out I had intruders in the night that decided to violate me. 

Recently I was at a live music show. The guys that I follow usually have their shows rather late in the evening with one show ending at 2 AM my time. Well, I fell asleep, which left me standing there dancing in the club long after the music stopped. I wake up and check my chat before I log out and there's an IM from the singer saying, "Did you fall asleep?"

I can't really think of anything right now off the top of my head,other than something that happened while I was in SL..

I was waiting for my tea to whistle and was at a club in SL..

I was dancing with someone and in a really interesting conversation.. My tea pot started to whistle and I figured I could run get my tea and be back without skipping a beat..

So I got up and was about to run and got pulled to the ground..Then looked back to see what happened and watched in what seemed like slow motion as the computer tipped and fell to the ground..

The mouse cord had worked around my foot and I ended up killing the computer when it hit the ground..

I did a Monica ,when she lost the apartment scream, to chandler and Joey,only longer and louder.. I was devastated.

Pamela's stories reminded me of one.

I had just purchased a compact and lipstick that, when worn, caused you to do a "putting on lipstick" animation.  Eager to show off my new sophistication, I went to a mall.  There was a club in the mall, and a crowd of people.  I browsed to my makeup items in my inventory, right clicked the lipstick, and then...mis-hit the menu item.  I activated "Replace Outfit."

BOOM!  I am standing in a crowd, naked and bald, putting on my lipstick.

I was so mortified I couldn't even think to hit the teleport home button for about 30 seconds.

Being an escort/stripper certainly leads to some interesting situations. Being a homeless one leads to downright absurd ones. 

I'd just finished with a client who had taken a lot more of my time than we had originally agreed upon, but they paid well and it wasn't like it was a bad time. (Y'know what they say, sex is like pizza. When it's good, it's great, when it's bad, it's still pretty damn good.)

In any case I had to dash outta there right after for some IRL stuff. When I logged back in, I'd forgotten that I was still bare-butt naked with a raging boner, spawning into my PG home sim in which my landing spot was the front yard of a children avi's clothes store...

Good news, I wasn't actually completely naked, I was wearing a bowtie. Bad news: it wasn't on my neck.

oh my, that´s why I could never rent on anything but adult land (or...live at that^^) I mean my SL is completely sexless but I like to be able to change in peace  with half my body being naked for a longer time...or more than half (like if I do inventory pics I just slap them on, pics, folder, next item - I´m bald, naked except for shoes or whatever combo you can think of in quite a lot of them^^

For me it was pretty embarrassing..

Especially when we brought it to the shop and they asked what happened to the computer..My husband couldn't wait to blurt out what happened..

We ended up getting a new one anyways,which was overdue..

I got stuck in a murphy bed in a furniture shop due to lag. I could not stand up, TP wasn't working for some reason, and the bed's animation folded back into the wall. 

I didn't know Depression era slapstick is a thing that could happen to people. It happened to me.

Forgot I logged out in a skybox with a sex bed once (I used to frequent a big club with escort rooms and they were never actually locked unless they were in use). Logged back in right next to two people going at it, the three of us freaked out together and had a laugh.

I met this guy, he invited me to live in his house and gave me rights to mod his stuff, one day I come up with the bright idea to paint the bedroom walls pink, I was doing ok, but then I forgot to click select face, and turned the whole house pink, even the glass in the Windows. I was sure he was going to dump me and I would be homeless again, of course he just resized a new copy of the house and got a laugh out of it.
