Maybe that will split the whole business into escorts and animesh hookers, long term. AFK, as we know it, could vanish.

Not a chance AFK is going away nor will be impacted by Animesh sex dolls.

To the OP, I know of a sim you earn lindens just for being there while class is going on. Most of the time people just stand around and dance or chat. and as long as you talk once every 10 minutes you have a chance to win anywhere from 1$ up to as high as I have seen some win 16$ just for being there and participating in the sim.

Since not really allowed to advertise I cannot directly say where it is.

toward the afk sims yes they do work, especially if you find ones with active mods that will kick and even ban anyone that tries to just poseball and run and not tip. for there are several that take it serious and do expect people to have the courtesy to tip after playing with the patrons that are there working. you might not make a lot at them and could make more just finding dance events or trivia or sploders at sims with events going on.

towards how to make more, that depends on the place and clients that come there. and if you are actually afk or there and rp with them where they might be inclined to pay more. some dont require you to pay anything, they take a percentage out of your tip jar of what you were paid like a tax for using their service.

will it make enough to cover actual computer/internet/electric costs.. probably not in the short run and not even in the long run. but that really is up in the air based upon what type of whales go there and how much they might pay for your service.

and the avatar that makes the most may vary too depending upon if human or furry or angel or demon.. there is no one avatar that 'will' make the most at all of them. no set gurantee's.

so if you are looking to do this as some sort of rl full time job..to pay bills.. dont...

lol.. just realized this was from last year originally..

Would you explain why you think that?
In my opinion, every single customer choosing an animesh doll instead of an afk avatar is going to affect the statistics.

I'm not sure people really understand that regions cost $300 US a month, and that L$300 is only about $1 american fun buck. So either the owners of AFK sex regions have a really weird and expensive hobby, or they are the only ones making any money.

What are these customers choosing? Are they buying these dolls for use in private on their own land? Are they buying them from marketplace or a in-world store? If so, are you aware of the mesh triangle count restriction and the charged triangle based land impact penalties involved? Have you seen Animesh sex dolls for sale that have bento hand and facial animations as well as distinct moaning/orgasm sounds with their own unique voice, their own particle emissions and/or "spunk" layers, their own removable clothing and/or accessories. Do they have the capability of using any existing furniture you already own without you having to set up anything prior? Going back to the previous mentioned restrictions, are these sex dolls even attractive or do they look like default system avatar XML rips with low quality bodies, hair and/or clothing? Is the owner going to bother purchasing new hair, clothing and accessories periodically to keep said doll looking appealing or periodically purchase new expensive sex furniture to keep the "romance" alive?

What about instead of buying and maintaining, they instead go to a place that has Animesh characters for use on site at a hourly rate or for free? With the aforementioned limitations, in terms of attractiveness and performance, are Animesh characters even able to compete with user avatars wearing exotic/expensive mesh heads, bodies, hair, clothing and accessories with interactive sex systems, sounds, emissions, RLV interactiveness and/or attachment interchangeability?

What I'm getting at with all these questions is that presently, Animesh sex dolls have an extremely difficult time competing with the already massively saturated and free sex AFK market. There is an over-abundance of attractive user avatars available for free sex that no Animesh object could even come close to resembling to nor performing like due to resource restrictions/usage and/or script limitations alone.

I mention "free" because presently, most AFK places still do not employ mandatory tipping. Many do not take a percentage of tips. Many use AFK as a secondary means of garnering traffic. Many use AFK not as their primary business model but instead, as an aside or an attraction. The honor system has lead to a major problem of non-paying customers. Land owner's and/or business organizer's hands are tied in most cases so they leave the AFK participants to fend for themselves since they are under no obligation to protect them as there will always be more coming to fill the void.

Lastly, can Animesh sex dolls give the necessary sensory feedback, satisfy the same thrill seeking and satiate the same psychological needs of customers who engage in AFK primarily for the slim chance that someone on the other end may be watching and/or enjoying them and may possibly IM them for further interaction and RP possibilities or is the use of a sex doll primarily for self-gratification or cheap entertainment?

Thats all true, for the moment. But you know at least as much as me, animesh is pretty new, i im sure we will see some improvements over the next months and years.
Just think about mesh, and the decline of system clothes. For a long time we just could buy the usual "5 standard size" pieces, forcing us to change the body shape, just to close all that gaps between the fabric and the avatar skin, swearing when still some body parts poked through the clothes.
And nowadays? A lot of creators make fashion, what fits perfectly. The mesh layer is thin, but there is no gap anymore, you cant even fit a sheet of paper between skin and fabric. And you dont need alpha in a lot of cases, nothing pokes through.

Not yet.

Things always can and will be improved. Call it progress or evolution.
And if there is market, there will be creators, going and trying to solve all the problem you mentioned before. I dont say, it can be achived to the full extent, but remember my statement about early mesh clothes and what we have today.

I dont see animesh dolls being set up in a lonely guys 60 LDs/week skybox. Not at all.
Maybe its more likely, that an AFK sim owner will reduce the available beds for "real" dolls, and stuff it with animesh dolls instead, because there are custumers taking AFK as it is. They dont want any verbal interaction, unless they send the first IM, of course.

Dont get me wrong, please. I also dont like the fact robots take over in our daily life. But we cant just deny it and say "we always did it this way, so its not going to change at all"

I don't think everyone here understands the drive for visiting AFK sex. If you just want to have sex with an avie and not talk, you can create an alt for that and do your thing. That's what you would get for having an animesh dolls too, and its probably cheaper ad completely customizable to your own visual taste too.

People visit AFK  because even if they are not there, they are real other people they are having "sex" with. Aside from all the other advantages that have bene repeated a lot during this topic, the idea that you have sex with someone elses avie is the biggest attraction. Of course its not the same for everyone, always exceptions. But for majority that visits AFK sims, this is what makes it attractive.
