How do I do a live performance on group owned land in SL?

The owner of the group has to set up your music URL in the "about land" "media" section. If you don't have the rights to do that as a member of the group, you should send the main owner your URL either in IM or on a notecard.

A live performer most likely has their own music stream in the same way that any regular SL DJs do. From my experience they usually supply a set up notecard to hosts of sims where they perform which includes the URL for their stream and a textures for their preferred backdrop & some also have a media URL to play video on the backdrop.

You simply put the music URL in the audio box on About Land and the Video URL(if they have one) in the Media box & both start to play when the performer begins streaming.
