To get help be detailed: What exactly are you doing and with what are you doing it with and what is happening when you do it? It sounds like you have some kind of corruption on your storage. You should run "disk doctor" maintenance to repair your disks. If that fails, you may have to rebuild your machine from scratch (fiull reinstall).
