diamond Marchant
Six new Ranch coastal regions have been added below SSPTreble Creek and extending to Nebble Creek. These new regions are named SSPPennywhistle, SSPFeathered Nest, SSPTaffy Pool, SSPToofer Bay, SSPBuckledown Acres and SSPShallowford. The double railbed continues along the coast. 6
Nika Talaj
They are moving fast, multiple moles at work at once, but there's still quite a ways to go if they intend to finish the entire west coast of the Ranches before starting on a new theme. *wistfully* It would be nice if they would drop in the community center for the Meds before they completely finish up the Ranches. Just, you know, to give us non-Rancheros something to admire There's no clear sign of work commencing on a new theme in the SSP zone - no new big area where theme tiles would be built. In fact, they have removed one of the regions they restored last week, the one with the red cover, SSP3500. There are, however, individuals at times in SSPConspiracy III and SSPRC107 - maybe doing some prototyping?

Nika Talaj
A couple of oddities up in the SSP zone. Region SSPDMF has been there for a long time, I've never seen anyone in it. It's a duplicate of Muehlenbach, the chalet community region where the Drunken Mouse pub is located. I've always assumed that the F stood for Festive. The moles sometimes keep around duplicates of community regions so they can put together decorations for holidays. I've seen the Drunken Mouse decorated for Christmas, very cute. SO, yesterday and today there were people up there. What on earth are they doing? /me thinks. Could they be experimenting with making it ... alpine? Or maybe they're thinking about doing an Octoberfest there this year? That would be fun! There is also a new region, SSP Butter Cookie (I kid you not) doesn't even show a cover yet, it's next to a couple of old regions called SSPTest1 and SSPTest2. Your guess is probably better than mine as to what it will be used for. Edited August 15 by Nika Talaj 4

If they're doing another candy bucket hunt, that'd need some sorting too.
Nika Talaj
Moles out and about this morning! There are a couple of folks working on the ranches' west coast, but up in the SSP Zone, 4 folks are busy each on a different region (SSP Decor 3, SSP Test 3, SSP Butter Cookie, SSP Test2). Maybe working on ideas for Tiki and Alpine, watcha think? Ideas, ideas ... this phase of Belli buildout must be the most fun time to be a mole! The other day there were, briefly, a couple of folks in SSP83X ... maybe putting a new home style into controllers for existing theme(s)? diamond Marchant
Seven regions have been added to the southwest coastline of the ranch theme between SSPShallowford and Grizzly Siding. These regions are named SSPBubble Pipe, SSPPainted Pig, SSPClampetts Granary, SSPGoshawk Quarry, SSPRiverbend, SSPWave Hello and SSPFargo Wells. This southwest coast would be completed to Itsa Fluke by adding eight additional regions. 6

Nika Talaj
Looks like they're getting ready to build out a new theme up in the SSP zone! It's odd that there's a division between the SSPR and the SSPRC areas ... maybe they're going to combine two similar themes? E.G. tiki and mer/underwater? The grassy-looking covers on some of the SSPRC regions in this pic are probably just leftover images from previous regions that occupied that grid space. This gives me hope for a new theme release in the Christmas/New Years timeframe. Other, smaller changes in the SSP zone: the two regions that for some reason were restored, SSP4000 and SSP4500, have been deleted. I think a couple of new "Test" regions have shown up. 4

Nika Talaj
New 1024 theme? It appears that I was wrong about the new SSP regions in my previous post, the green regions in the SSPRCxxx regions are not old images, but new regions without a cover on them! This gives us a chance to see the new theme in very early development. It seems to me that the SSPRCxxx regions will host a new 1024 land (as opposed to water) theme. (Or could be a land-based portion of a tiki theme, maybe jungle-ish?). This pic shows a few SSPRCxxx regions, as well as a minimap in a 2048 region (included just to compare what 2048 parcel sizes look like). Looking at SSPRC104, we can see the outlines of several 1024 parcels, and some open (unbuilt) spaces. Below, in region SSPRC108, we see 2 or 3 1024 parcels, as well as some roads and spare parts scattered about, but mostly open space. Now, it is TEMPTING to speculate that a couple of gray rectangles as well as the size of some open spaces indicate that this theme could be 1024s and 2048s mixed ... but the regions are in such an early stage of development it's hard to say. Since I don't see a single actual 2048 parcel outline, I'm not yet willing to go there. The larger, left portion of the new theme buildout (SSPRxxx) all have covers on them, and presumably would be a watery tiki area. No clue what they look like, or the parcel sizes. On a different topic, I reviewed Patch's update thread, to see if there is any pattern to when theme updates are released. There really isn't, which gives me hope that it's possible that in September or October there could be an announcement of something new - maybe new home models, maybe the Med community region, maybe something else <- restless native Edited September 7 by Nika Talaj 2
SarahKB7 Koskinen
Ranch has various "empty" regions, including Overall, Blind Pete, Penitence, Two Step, Hootis, Los Topos and one single empty unnamed landlocked void near to the west coast of the continent. Perhaps these empty regions will be filled with SSPRCxxx regions = Ranch Community regions? Edited September 7 by SarahKB7 Koskinen

SSPRC101 and 102 are further along than the ones I pictured above, and both seem very clearly to have 24 1024 parcels placed on them as of today. Polenth Yue
C could be for Christmas, as they've done reveals at the Christmas Expo before. Whether such a thing would be a new theme, showcasing older themes, or a bit of both... any of those could work. We still get people who are shocked and surprised that there are new Linden Homes (as in not the ones from the Elderglen and friends era), so there's something to be said for having displays at events, even if there's nothing very new.
SarahKB7 Koskinen
Eight new regions are now visible on the map, on the southwest side of Ranch. The SSPWave Hello region from 30th August has been re-terraformed and had it's name changed to SSPSouthwind. But there is now another new SSPWave Hello region four regions to the south of the original which also has the originals original terrain. It might even be the original one, but has been moved south?! Damn, I'm confused... *twitch* Anyway, there's now only four missing regions between the west coast of Ranch and the 'Squishy Pickle' houseboat regions. Names (8): SSPBarnacle Bill, LulaTuna Pass, SSPStorm Drain, Whitneyville, SSPPlunge, Bahha, SSPWave Hello (v2?), SSPBarking Seal. Name change: SSPWave Hello (30th August 2024) to SSPSouthwind. Polenth Yue
The Hallowe'en announcement means there will be a candy bucket hunt from Oct 1st. Doesn't stop them releasing regions (they've done it during the hunt before), though does add to the mayhem. This also means we're already officially less than thirty days before the event starts, if you were waiting on the allowed date before starting to decorate.
diamond Marchant
The double track continues along the western coastline of the Ranch regions. Will they continue the double track and eventually make a big U turn like they did in Briar Hill? I think so, as some rework would be required to connect up in Nomer Sea.
Nika Talaj
/me taps her foot impatiently. Someone working in one of the SSP test regions, then someone in the QA Vault, then someone in SSP83x ... on and on it goes ... when will we hear anything about this work? Maybe a word about new styles for existing themes? Something? The poll results clearly indicate that Tiki will be the next theme, and in my recent post it also seemed pretty clear that it may be a combo with a mix of some 1024(?) water and land regions of the same or different theme. This new theme is clearly in development (but lol, sometime this week they put covers on all the regions, so no more sneak peeks 😅). Development so far seems leisurely, I rarely see more than one person active on it at a time. 2
