Some of these new regions are showing up on the map. I wonder if this is a mistake or sneak previews from the Moles ?

Some are probably going offline or about to come online soon.

Another interesting development I think above.

The third image, Geppetto, is currently Time and Space, Ankh Morpork twinned with Pijame. It's still there, and still in use, but is invisible on the main map now, until you fly up to 300. It'll be interesting to see what happens to it.

Looks like the SSP regions have expanded again recently. These regions are where the Moles/Lindens develop new Linden Home themes. No access to the public.

All photos below have been taken on 26/3/2021 via the World Map.

  • SSP2521 to SSP2530 I think are the newer regions
  • SSP2531 to SSP2500 has been on the grid for some time

SSPW6 has been added on the grid near the SSP regions. I wonder what W6 stands for ?

LH Dev regions as of 26th March 2021. Looks like various developments are happening here.

Hmm.

*turns to her favourite search engine*

London W6 .. Hammersmith ... the location of the offices of international businesses and companies such as Disney.

*gasps*

Linden Lab is being secretly taken over by Disney!

Yes, this block of 16 regions 2521-2535 have been there for at least a week, and I've seen moles working there, there's a couple there right now.  Presumably that's the working area for the theme after chalets (theme 8?), tho16 regions is pretty small as new theme working areas go. Note that there's also SSP2501 positioned well above this block ... remains to be seen whether 2502-2520 will eventually fill in the space between it and 2521.

LL has cleaned out a lot of the random solo regions in the northern reaches of the SSP area.  But I did notice SSPAMB, which is new to me, up above SSPCI.  Just a blank blue region at present.

AMB ... hmmm ... Abnor Mole's Bath?

Wow just found out about this new awesome spot - waves at a linden beach! - You can rez a surfboard and if you paddle out to a wave the animation changes to surfing the wave. I couldnt' get a good snapshot unfortunately just this quick pic. It's such an awesome addition to what I expect will be part of the stilt regions:

Maybe LL will fill up the void that currently stretches from Glub Glub to Diving Belle: That'd be 44 sims of open water!

Meanwhile, looks like this is already (more than) half done: While Diving Belle region is still at the northeast corner of a lage multi-region (not sim!) gap, Glub Glub region is no longer at the other tip, with stilt LH regions SSPE1735 to SSPE1770 added to fill most of it. The reduced gap has its SW tip now at regions Mango Salsa and Pool Shark, only 4×3=12 regions. Surely to be filled up soon, too?

People have begun doing workarounds for the world map.  For new regions, these basically just display the region names - no-one can actually create new map tiles that show details as yet.  I will give some links below, but for this thread's purposes, @Eddy Ofarrel 's web map shows where the links between Margaritaville and the chalet regions (Bellevaria!) will be. (Gullible and Shellfish Attitude are not yet accessible or showing on the map in SL).

And her map also shows that the link between the chalets and Satori will be the as-yet-nonexistent regions Carmine Sky and Cthulhu.

Here is her post describing what she did to create this helpful tool!  Please note that she has not created new map tiles - she is displaying the old November 18 tiles at comfortable zoom levels, and also picking up the existence of new region names.

Also, there are reports that @Henri Beauchamp's  Cool VL Viewer is doing somewhat the same thing inworld.  This viewer has been around for years and years.  I used to use it when I was running SL on a totally inadequate laptop with Intel graphics chips. His memory management was much better than LL's, and his viewer was bloat-free.  It is still under very active development and use, tho I personally haven't tried it in ages.

I picked up this info on the World Map thread in the Server subforum.

Chalets released!  The landscape is hilly.  There are ponds and the occasional small waterway. Having a beer by the waterfall in Limestone...

It is a shame the map isn't working.  Flying around, I see there is a REALLY BIG river with mostly undeveloped banks meandering through the entire subcontinent.  It starts at Hydrant, turns north to go by the community center in Meulenbach, then continues going roughly northeast, through Baylor Creek and Fork etc., until finally it goes through Lost Creek, Lavon and Buffalo Springs to empty into the coastal waters of Satori.  The route I show here is very rough, I may not have all the regions right, but you get the idea.

Here it is in Ida Wells, draw distance 750.  REALLY BIG.

I like maps. Most people like maps.

Agreed. I've found I have little interest in this release now, since I can't peruse the map to see the various regions and the features of each. I don't have time to go hike through them all one by one, so.... meh.
