I have logged on after being away for a while and my screen is purple. My avi has purple hair and i cant get any clear images of my surroundings.. HELP!

Try updating the drivers for your graphics card.

The "OMG everything is pink" problem is usually a system with AMD/ATI graphics with very outdated graphics drivers.
Updating the graphics drivers should fix it.

NOTE! Ignore the advice in the comments on that JIRA issue to set RenderMaxTextureIndex  to zero.
It can cause poor peformance of the viewer.
Just update your graphics drivers.
