Montecarlo Marseille
How can teens register to use Second Life? Is the process different from the regular registration process? I am a teacher and would like to introduce a group of teens to Second Life and Virtual Reality. 2 Lindal Kidd
Hi Montecarlo, and congratulations on recognizing and wanting to use the educational possibilities of Second Life. Unless your students are at least 16 years old, they cannot use SL in the normal way. People who are 16-17 may use the normal process to register for SL. Please be sure to walk them through the registration process with supervision, either yourself or a parent, and make sure they enter their actual birth date. This will limit them to General rated regions and content. If your class includes students under the age of 16, you can still introduce them to SL, but it's going to take some effort and their access will be much more limited. Kids 13-15 may use SL, but only under the supervision of a recognized youth organization (or school), and they are limited to a region that that organization has set up and runs.
