The Theme is "Prometheus' Gift"

The inspiration for this theme came from the love of fire that is common to all of us Burners. The sight of a spark inspires us, a raging bonfire enthralls us.

So many myths, so many stories. Fire stolen by gods, mankind or animals. It gives, and yes, it takes, life. Ancient Greek and Roman mythology, Etruscan, Egyptian, Chinese and Indian, Native Peoples. In some stories, fire was a gift; in others a stolen power; in still others a side effect of the actions of gods and goddesses.

This free one-weekend event will officially open with a walk-on by the Lamplighters at 10:00am SLT on June 29th, with camp builds remaining available for exploration during the following week (07/02 through 07/08).

Our canvas, as always, is the playa (a flat-floored desert basin).

You will experience art, music and community. Drive an Art Car. Groove to the tunes emanating from the Stage. Marvel at, and experience, the creative builds scattered throughout the playa.

Who are we?

BURN2 is an extension of the Burning Man festival and community into the world of Second Life. It is an officially sanctioned Burning Man Regional, the only virtual world Regional out of more than 100 Regional groups worldwide, and the only Regional to burn the Man!

This unique virtual Regional spreads the culture and Ten Principles of Burning Man year-round in Second Life, culminating in an annual major festival of community, art and fire in the fall -- a virtual echo of Burning Man itself.
