Yes, it can only be used there. When you see an item you want to buy, right-click it and select "menu", and buy using your credit.

yes, then rightclick the vendour you want to use it on, select "menu" and then use credit

Go to the item and right click. Choose Menu. This will give you an option to use store credit.
