Loki Eliot
Right simple question, where is the 'MAKE REAL' button needed to create a rigged object compatible with SL in Blender 2.5?
hibit Spad
I am hardly an expert on Blender or on rigging in Blender, but I am wondering what "make real" button you are referring to ? Or maybe better yet what makes you believe there is a "Make Real" button?
Ashasekayi Ra
In Blender 2.49, there is a button labeled "Make Real" in the armature modifier. They don't have that in Blender 2.5. Sadly, you can't export a useable SL rigged mesh from Blender 2.5 yet since the dae exporter hasn't been fully developed.
Luc Starsider
As Ashasekayi Ra said, exporting armatures for SL does not yet work in 2.5. I'm not sure if the 'make real' button will make it's way to 2.5 (or 2.6) in any case. Like you, I never really understood why there was such a button, and how it worked. Regarding collada export. Google Summer of Code is kind to Blender, and one person is allocated to work on Collada through the program. See here for more info. Perhaps this will speed things up, and collada will be working well enough for SL soon. - Luc -

I hope it means Collada export in Blender 2.5 will be usable for SL much quicker because of it. - Luc -
