Lindens Dan Linden Posted April 10, 2018 Lindens Share Posted April 10, 2018 Hi Leander. The media_plugin_cef plugin is required for displaying Search, Profiles, Marketplace and other web pages within the Second Life viewer. It's possible a web page on a prim triggered this failure. If this error appears again, please file a bug in jira.secondlife.com and attach the SecondLife.log file. This page tells you where to find the logs folder: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/How-to-report-a-bug/ta-p/733545#Section_.

It is also possible that your antivirus decided to disallow that plugin, so check those logs and see if maybe the file got quarantined - it has happened before. FantasmoX
It may rather have to do with a viewer update. I had the same happen on an older (Vista) laptop just today. That's how I found the thread. Reinstall didn't solve it. Edited April 13, 2018 by FantasmoX
Lindens Dan Linden Posted April 13, 2018 Lindens Share Posted April 13, 2018 The part of the Second Life viewer that renders media in-world is only compatible with Windows 7 or later. The Second Life viewer uses CEF/Chromium for media integration and CEF/Chromium dropped support for Windows Vista. The viewer at the bottom of this page may still work on Vista, but no promises. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Alternate_Viewers#Obsolete_Platforms
FantasmoX
The viewer as such seems to work fine despite the error message. (I don't use it a lot on said computer)
