SAM Cloud?

So I have been out of the DJ game (and SL in general) for a LONG time. I tried to get back into it and ran into a snag.

Apparently I need have SAM Cloud just to use SAM Broadcaster now?
I re-installed SAM, and once I loaded the program it would not let me go any further because it wanted me to have a SAM Cloud subscription or something.

Is this new and mandatory? Or is there a workaround?

seems to me to be a SAM thing, not really SL, perhaps more info on their website/forums?
